Same Crash, New Error for me!!!

Would be nice for someone to acknowledge an issue with AMD cards inside P3DV5.1 HF1. I can fly all day long on NVIDIA but not enough VRAM for me.

This newest error was with UI Hardware Acceleration off.

I flew KBWI - KMCO. Stayed connected and took off about an hour later headed for KDEN. after 3 1/2 hours I received the device hung.

Makes no sense to me.

I am willing to try anything to help get this figured out!!

Just in case, I am flying FSLabs A320. Settings are on the same setting I flew using a GTX1080.

Thanks for your time and advice in advance.

Ray,

We will need to see the error entry in Windows Event Viewer at the time of the crash.

@ sportpilot67 ,

You mentioned:
“I flew KBWI - KMCO. Stayed connected and took off about an hour later headed for KDEN. after 3 1/2 hours I received the device hung.”

I do not stay connected after a flight.
I would exit P3D after KMCO arrival.
Reboot the PC.
Do a new flight KMCO-KDEN.

I understand what you are saying but do not believe it should be that way. Once again, on a GTX1080 with 8GB VRAM I never had to reboot and start fresh, ever!

@ sportpilot67 ,

But it is that way on your setup.

Hi,

I want to activate this thread again.
Does the Device_Hung with the event D3DDRED2 still occur with some 6800 XT users?

Maybe there is a solution:
AMD recommends connecting the 6000 series with 2 extra PCIe cables. Not a cable with 2x 8-pin plugs. It appears that the D3DDRED2 event is a sudden power overload.
I did this 2 weeks ago and haven't had a Device_Hung since then.

Thomas,

I do not have an AMD graphics card myself, but I saw this solution mentioned also in another thread.

No replies yet on results there.

Thanks for posting this -

Jorgen,

I know, I wrote these posts. But I hope this could be a workable solution for the AMD owners.

Hello Thomas,

I am the OP of this thread. I never have received a device hung since installing 5.2 HF1 (5.2.22.27615).

My system has not changed except I put my CPU overclock back. For me, it all had something to do with P3D. No other explanation. However, if I try to fly Aerosoft Airbus, I will get a device hung so I no longer fly that aircraft.

I fly FSLABS and a handful of GA (payware) without issue.

Regards,

Ray
