RAM guidelines?

Are there some recommendations as to what RAM speed is optimal? Otherwise stated, is P3D sensitive software to RAM?

P3D is not sensitive to RAM speed in any way that you will notice. Much of the scenery rendering is buffered and the speed of the CPU is far more important.
