I just installed Microsoft Office 365 last night and ran a Microsoft update the night before, I have not run the flight sim in a few days. Before then then it was running perfectly I was at the point where I didn't need to do anything else to the sim. Now when I start the sim the P3d window pops up and just when the sim should start the window disappears. The sim is running in the task manager but does not appear. I tried deleting the config file, reinstalling scenery, content and client files and still nothing has worked. I reinstalled FSUIPC nothing, I uninstalled add-ons and still the same thing happens. I have tons of Orbx scenery, UT Live, Flightbeam, FSDT, Active Sky, Rex Texture, ASCA, and PMDG, TFDI aircraft. I don't know what to do now, I'm at a point now that I'm scared to do a update.
I'm no expert when it comes to computers so, if anyone has advice please give step by step detailed instructions.
Any help would be appreciated.
Blake

Re: P3d V4.2 RUNNING ONLY IN TASK MANAGER
I can't be specific because I have limited memory it seems, but something in the back of my mind recalls that there is an issue between Microsoft Office and the RAAS product by FS2Crew, which is also provided free in a locked version with several popular addon aircraft. The RAAS product by a Spanish developer and they use the Spanish run time library for Access. Installing office might over write the Spanish version for the Office version installed.
If you have RAAS or a product with RAAS included (PMDG 747/777) then either try repair its installation or downloading and installing current runtime library for DB from Microsoft. Hope this helps.

Re: P3d V4.2 RUNNING ONLY IN TASK MANAGER
Thank you all for responding.
Earlier I mentioned that I uninstalled third party software, well that was true and not true. I uninstalled scenery and weather, airports and everything else except airplanes. I went back and uninstalled all aircraft. The sim started and stayed. I believe as downscc mentioned it was caused by RAAS with PMDG, some kind of way files were corrupted. When I reinstalled the aircraft the sim worked.
I do use Windows Defender, I noticed when I did the last update before the sim started crashing there were updates for Windows Defender and possibly that might have created the problem not sure but I sure appreciate all the help given.
Thank you
Blake
