Autogen shadows still flickering even on high resolution!

Hi guys,

This has been such an old issue that I was hoping at least with v4 it would be fixed. But unfortunately it's not.

Vegetation shadows are especially guilty in this case of heavy flickering which is really distracting sometimes. I have tried some suggestions by SteveW over at the Avsim forum for a previous version but nothing I did seems to help.

Are you guys working on a fix for this? Because at the moment vegetation shadows casting looks great, in screenshots! Not when flying! :(

Increasing shadow quality will reduce flickers in most cases. Being close to dynamic autogen with lower shadow settings will tend to show more flickering due to the extra detail from leaves and branches. That being said, we are always looking into ways to further improve and advance the platform.

Thanks for your reply Rob,

I did try a resolution of 4096 but the flickering was still there. I will try and push it higher and see what happens.

I notice there are some points when it stops flickering and is dead still, but as I pan around again the flickering seems to return. I do hope you guys are able to figure out a solution for this. Will be happy to report back any further findings.

Thank for taking care of this "issue". I encountered strongly yesterday : https://youtu.be/XqcP3qs5W58 and for now will monitore this thread in case of improvement.
