I am not L-M.
L-M do not give timescales for releases
L-M do not give timescales for releases of solutions to individual problems

Do what you will. The timescale for refunds is clearly stated.

I still say the problem is not the sim, it's your system, your addons or how you choose to run it. You are completely unable to solve this problem while you are seeping information to us in fits and starts. Only now do we find out you have FTX Global Vector installed...

As for L-M support, that is provided during office hours and weekdays only. You may have to wait some time for a reply, if indeed they choose to contribute anything given the non-standard nature of the installation.

Peter,

Major bits of mine looks like this:

MoBo: ASUS Maximus V GENE
Intel i7-3770K @4.6 Ghz cooled by Kühler H2O 920
GeForce GTX970 4Gb
RAM: 16Gb DDR3 2400
120 Gb Kingston HyperX 3K (Win drive)
120 Gb Kingston HyperX 3K (P3D drive)
OS: Win 10 Pro 64-Bit (clean install)
Prepar3d v3.1 Professional
FTX Global | FTX Vector | FSGlobal 2010 FTX Edition | FTX OpenLC EU and many airports

- and I can do 10-hour or more flights with the PMDG 777 with no problems at all, I have done at least 10 flights like that with v3.1.

The problem(s) is (are) with your system, no doubt about that. Painful as it might be, start all over with a clean Win 10 install and then work your way though.
Cheers,
Søren

What possible use is an answer to that question to YOU..?

I don't have PMDG products installed - they hold no interest for me and I remain unconvinced that their development cycle timescale does anything other than pay lip service to P3D3.x

I do have a raft of addons installed including the MJC8400, and I have never, EVER had a crash of the nature you describe. I regularly carry out 4-5 hour fights in real time VFR and IFR, with live weather.

Why/ Because I vet my system, and what goes into it
I manage my P3D installations and vet most carefully what goes into them
I remove addons that are not currently in use,
I regularly check and manage all drivers in the system and review RAM, power supply, CPU and GPU performance for any changes

In short, I take responsibility.

Hi SierraDelta,

Mine i7 Skylake
16RAM
GTX960
Windows 10 x64 installed 3 times fresh copies however I have Enterprise Edition but it shouldn't be an issue
Gigabite Motherboard
SSD 500 spreded half Sys and P3D partitions

last crash with installed only:
ORBX Global, ORBX Vector, ORBX OpenLC, FTX England, FTX Ireland, Lisbon LPPT, Warsaw City X Drzewiecki Design, PMDG 737NGX 800 Base only, ASN, EZDok.

The problem is, its not only me who has this issue. I'm getting out of ideas, I installed chipset drivers from Gigabyte webpage, newest NVIDIA Drivers, and I'm not so keen on installing system 4th time, but if you want a proof I can do it. Last thing which has popped in to my head is some kind of change in this major Win 10 update. Beside I got nothing. Can turn off Windows Updates right after install Win 10 and then I could compare.

Snave,

On Aerosoft Airbus I didn't observe this kind of issues. Since a beginning I said PMDG and P3D

Hi Sierra Delta,

I just went through some readings about skylake and found out it has a bug with stability on overclocking on Prime95, there is an update to it so I'll go with it and do the fresh copy of windows and let you know how its going. hope it is it.

Hi Sierra Delta,

I just managed to complete flight 3h 40min.

Installed new BIOS with fix for skylake, left overclocking on Auto by default.

Didnt install any addons yet as I wanted to be sure, only 737NGX Base and ASN only in use and so far so good.

CPU usage was on 60% and 3.67GHz, highest pick was 3.71GHz. Looks like Intel's fault so far.

Hi All

I found a cause of my crash, after some reading I found out that i7 Skylake was released faulty, on Prime95 test which is overclocking test was freezing. my motherboard Gigabyte Z170M-D3H released BIOS update in January with fix to this bug, sometimes I was getting no errors in logs sometimes MSCVR120.dll sometimes other dll errors, sim was crashing to desktop.

Now after updating BIOS and leave overclocking on Auto by default I just did 3:20h flight and all well with 264 Active entries in scenery.cfg

If someone experiencing similar crashing is due to Skylake processor.

SOLUTION: Update your BIOS from your motherboard vendor webpage.

Consider this topic as solved

Peter
