[RESOLVED] P3d CTD when starting a new flight

Post by Aleksander_B »

Hi all,

I really need your help here. Suddenly my P3d stops working and CTD.
I can't for the life of me figure out what may cause this.

I've been flying for weeks without any issues. Recently I installed Aerosoft Malaga X, and nothing after that.
Today, it just crashes and gives me this error and a .NET error:
Application: Prepar3D.exe
Framework Version: v4.0.30319
Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.

I posted this before going through the last posts on this forum. Seems that it's a Win10 update problem... :-/

Did what "petakas" did, it's a temp fix. But it works!

After some trials I too had the crash in P3Dv3, not in default cab start up flight but as soon as I would load add on aircraft like PMDG which use DLLs.

I went to Windows10 update.
I took the network plug out (to cut Internet) so that on reboot it does not automatically redownload the KB4038788 update.
I uninstalled KB4038788 update.
Rebooted.
Disabled Windows Update from SERVICES (changed selection to STOPPED) not from the Windows Update page which only pauses it for few days.
Reconnected PC to Internet.

And at least this way I can for now fly P3Dv3 until a FIX is found without worrying for updates.
