Just to make things clear, the Dec 12 update which is supposed to fix the error is NOT AVBL yet. The latest update as of Dec 12: KB4051963 is from Nov 30. Looks like we still gotta wait a bit.

The update (KB4054517 - 12.12 2017) seems to solve the problem ...!

Just downloaded and installed the cumulative December update and the child window appears to be resolved in v3.

I can confirm that KB4054517 fixes the "error creating child window" issue.
Nearly 3 months later I finally have my sim back!

Hey Guys,
After de Win10 KB4054517 update (released today) i made a full flight with FSX-SE and the problem with the "Error creating child window" was gone.
Now testing P3D Academic V3.4.22.19868 and Academic V2.5.12946.0
I'll keep you informed,
