Strange Crash during long haul

Post by ajbillinge »

Hi all, I have been having a strange Situation where my sim will freeze, but not "stop responding". After about 5 minutes of waiting around it would CTD with the "stopped responding" message. This always happens during a long haul, around 4 hours in.

Here is what I have extracted from the event viewer:

The program Prepar3D.exe version 3.4.9.18400 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.
Process ID: 1ecc
Start Time: 01d2a55b3be10992
Termination Time: 4294967295
Application Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\Prepar3D.exe
Report Id: 17e03604-1189-11e7-b4ff-74d435e2a2a4
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:

Here are my system specs:
i5-4460 CPU @3.2GHz
RAM - 8GB
Nvidia GTX 960 ASUS STRIX
Windows 10 Pro - 64bit

In my flight the addons I was using were:
ActiveSky 16
vPilot
EZCA EzDok V1
PMDG 747-400 QOTSII
Numerous Airport sceneries (which I do not believe to have caused the issue)

Thanks in advance

"The program Prepar3D.exe version 3.4.9.18400 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed."

Why not get the currently supported P3D version installed?

Are you also still getting the DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG errors?
