P3D 2.5 Application Hang after May 10 winupdates
P3D 2.5 Application Hang after May 10 winupdates
W7
P3D 2.5
Nvidia GTX980 ti
I have had a very stable setup for over 1 year, no crashes, nothing.
May 10 was my first ever P3D freeze and I had not changed anything. Funnily enough the event viewer did not record this P3D hang, but the next day (11/05) it did record Application Hang, details below
I did all the hw checks - furmark, CPU Tester Pro 4, Memtest. All ok
My video driver is up-to-date.
Anytivirus scan run ok. sfc /scannow ok
Only thing I can think of is May 10 there were a LOT of winupdates, including visual c++ distributable, about 15-20 updates which is unusually high
Here is my log of the crash, has anyone run into this problem? I have meantime restored back to before the May 10 updates to see if that fixes

Re: P3D 2.5 Application Hang after May 10 winupdates
I have now completed 6 hours flying without any crash and without the May 10 winupdates
Unsure what to do next, other than not do any more winupdates until someone at P3D has tested this too?

If that was your first and only crash, I would not have been concerned frankly.

Re: P3D 2.5 Application Hang after May 10 winupdates
I had 2 crashes in a row, both after the May 10 updates so I am concerned about reinstalling the updates...since restoring to before the updates no crash at allIf that was your first and only crash, I would not have been concerned frankly.
Yes, you can exclude the ones causing problems within win updateIs there any ways that we can ignore those updates, in the future, but keep getting updates ?
See the other thread on this issue for p3d v3 - recommendation is clean install or try one-by-one without add-onswill there be a fix from LM
Re: P3D 2.5 Application Hang after May 10 winupdates
Is anyone still getting these crashes on P3D 2.5 with the winupdates installed?
I have run flawlessly since I uninstalled the winupdates, 17 of them that came thru on May 10th

Re: P3D 2.5 Application Hang after May 10 winupdates
I have now the same problem. Been using my latest installation on more than 20 flights now, all were fine, stable and all.
Haven't been flying since a month or so, and the ONLY thing updated were windows updates.
Now, I could roll back to before, but I'd rather not.
The sim started completely misbehaving, my Majestic Dash started flickering today as I loaded it, P3D is freezing when closing, loading some flight when started up, was gone after reboot etc. Very weird stuff.
I know I will reinstall P3D now, but this here must be a problem. Something ain't right here.
I think, and that's only a shot in a dark, there is something going on with administration privileges of an administrative account (user account with admin privileges) and what MS is changing when updating. I bet if I ran my Win10 with an "Administrator" account, like I did under Win7, I would have 0 problems. Maybe...
However, I do have latest P3D here.

Re: P3D 2.5 Application Hang after May 10 winupdates
Disregard my previous post. After removing Majestic and Shaders, no problems. Even after reinstallation of Majestic Dash, all is fine.
I am now just pissed that I missed Finally Austria, was just ready to depart Vienna for Innsbruck with fully staffed airports...
