Simconnect messages in VR

I've searched everywhere to find a way to display simconnect messages (green bar not the pop-ups) in VR without any luck. Many of the 3rd party addons I use (i.e. GSX, FS2Crew..etc.) use the simconnect interface to send messages on to the screen (green bar). I also tried fiddling with FSUIPC5 with no luck there either.
Is there any solution to this? would customizing a new window to display simconnect messages work?
