total noob: how to pull info from the sim with simconnect?

I have very very little coding experience but I'm willing to learn.

I want to be able to pull information etc from flight sim to keep track of.

is there any free language or coding I can do to pull information from simconnect?

Can I get propeller revolutions when engine is running, etc?

could I use LUA?
