Can you use Prepar3d with our own AutoPilot

Post by VSE »

We have our own AutoPilot. Our AutoPilot will do all the calculation necessary to fly the plane. We want to push our data from our AutoPilot (using the Prepar3d APIs obviously) to Prepar3d and using your physic engine, we want to verify that our UAS would fly or crash.

If you take a look at the following, can you tell me if #1 or #2 are possible?
1. Accelerated simulation without any GUI or graphics engine, just physics for testing, QA and verification. This would simulate many flights to test out new code and catch undesired behaviors.

2. GUI to simulate and review future flight patterns, modes, etc for human visualization and development.

Thank you.

We currently don't support running individual components of the system separately. You can however increase the sim rate and set up your scenario as the default to run through many cases relatively quickly.

The Navigation Visuals window can be used in Prepar3D to draw ribbons along the vehicle's path. A Visual Path object can be attached to your object in SimDirector as well. You can also record your flights in the Analysis menu to play these back. SimDirector will let you analyze these further using Flight Instructor mode. Here you can create segments from recordings. These segments show the route the vehicle took in 3D space on the map, as well as the state of internal parameters and systems.
