Runway Lights

Post by simdeveloper »

Hello,

Just wanted to ask the team and the community if there's any way to keep the runway / approach lights "always on" at airports?

If so, what's the best way to achieve this?

Yes, design the necessary MDL files for what you want to see and then control them as SimObjects, instead of scenery objects. Sim Object Display Engine aka SODE allows the conditional display of SimObjects.

In LSZH runway lights and approach lights are all day ON, as long the runay can be used. It seems this is in other countries different. Since long - yet with the FSX team - we kindly ask to give the variable which controls these lights ON / OFF as accessible switch with selectable day-hours. Then we could select how we want.

Today it is hard-coded, somehow dependent on light quantity as well as bad weather does also switch lights On/Off.

Please P3D team, have a look into, thanks.
Best regards
Peter
