P3Dv4 crashes when selecting approach on GPS 500

Post by jkenters »

Hi,

I've been troubleshooting this problem for some time now, but can't seem to find a fix. Whenever I select an approach on the GPS 500 for NZNP (New Plymouth) P3D stops responding (in other words: it crashed but not to desktop). Other airports are fine so far.

Steps to reproduce:

- start a new flight
- plane: Beech Baron 58 (default one; the G1000 version does not have this issue)
- location: NZGS, active runway
- OK (start flight)
- shift+3 to bring up the GPS window
- press "direct to" button and select NZNP
- then click "proc"
- then "select approach" (the only option available)
- now the approaches for NZNP are shown but the sim crashes (not responding according to windows)

Anyone else seeing this? What can I do to fix? I already tried:

- running without addon scenery and addons
- letting P3D generate new config files
- updating P3D's navdata using http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids3.html

Fixed the issue by updating the navdata using https://www.fsaerodata.com/
