What is Prepar3D, and is Prepar3D for me?

Post by RJS0013 »

So I'm not entirely sure where to ask this, so I'll ask it here and hope it gets answered. As per the title, I'd like to know if I'm eligible to purchase this software, so I guess I'll just explain my scenario.

As of right now, I am a senior in high school and will be heading off to college next year to study aeronautics; I also have an AFROTC scholarship that I hope to use to eventually become a pilot in the USAF. Basically, the whole point of me getting this software would be to "train"/educate me in both planes (since that is what I will fly in college) and helicopters (since that is what I hope to fly in the USAF). I assume that qualifies me for an academic and/or a professional license, but I would like to know if I am correct in assuming that?

If I am elligible, is Prepar3d its own software or is it essentially an add-on to Microsoft FSX and is the license a one time purchase or will I have to buy it every year? Thank you!

(I know these are probably really simple questions but I would just like to make sure)

Hello,

We cannot give specific advice on the EULA and eligibility. There is a matrix that can be used as a reference to help you decide, along with our EULA.

Prepar3D is a standalone flight simulation training tool built on Microsoft ESP. You can view the License Comparison link above to decide which license suits your needs, including the payment options. Prepar3D can be purchased as a one time, eternal license, or you can pay monthly for the Development license.

For more information on the Prepar3D Platform, you can read the overview:
