What is the best real world weather add-on?

Post by mikeglaz »

What I want is for my current weather conditions, i.e. in Chicago, to be simulated in Prepar3D. Are there add-ons that simulate this and if so, what is the best one, in your opinion?

My opinion? Active Sky. And I'm willing to bet that will be most people's opinions too. Best addon I ever bought.

Among the free advice products for real weather FSXWX v1.61 that works well on P3D v4 and for clouds the new version of
High Definition Environment v2.1 for P3D v4.

I didn't find it any harder on frame rates than the built-in weather engine. Obviously, the more severe the weather, the more it will affect performance, but this is also true with the built-in weather.

AS also has lots of settings you can tweak which can help with performance.
