Change path for add-on.cfg entries?
Hi. After successfully having changed my system to v4.3 a (for me) new question arises: My hardware concept of the flightsim PC was that HDD1 holds the OS, HDD2 the sim and HDD3 the scenery. I started that (I think) in times of MSFS 98, but have kept it up since. Now the possibility to store add-ons...

Re: How to update to P3D4.3 without errors
Hi Jan, A zillion of 'Thank you's for posting this link. At last I could - for the first time since "Saint Olim's times" remove my P3D installation with bypassing the nasty "This account already exists" message. I found out that your website also provides a lot of configuration a...

Re: Saitek Pro Flight Yoke Hat Switch Only Works Pushing Forward in Virtual Cockpit View.
Have you tried letting P3D start with a newly generated scenario? (Rename your 'Prepar3D v4 Files' folder in ...\Documents to 'Prepar3D v4 Files.x' and restart P3D.)
Does it work correctly then?
Michael.

Re: P3D V.4 strange behaviour on startup
You could rename all sim related folders from "<soandso>" to "<soandso>.xxx". So you keep your settings but P3D will re-generate a new set. If it brings no success, you just delete the newly generated folders and rename back your original ones.

Re: Uncommanded pitch down issues
Welcome, John, to the forum! Your description reminds me of the ocasionally occurring effect that (Saitek) throttle quadrant levers are 'mysteriously' linked to the aileron or rudder. Are you using Spad.Next for configuring your Saitek equipment? If so, I have noticed that some (sometimes strange) l...

Re: Is Lumberjack required?
Regarding the fact that P3D contains nearly 25.000 airports, it's next to impossible to answer your question with 100% certainty. As far as I have tried maybe between 100 and 200 airfields yet, there is indeed one or the other with trees in the approach. But I always considered them a challenge to g...

Re: Is Lumberjack required?
Why would one want to remove autogen trees for 3 miles (!) around an airfield? If you are in tree height above ground 3 miles ahead of the runway, you're definitely approaching too low. Otherwise... As for finding airports more easily by looking for punch-out holes in the autogen... there's the poss...

Re: Reset last flight rather than default flight?
Maybe a kind of automatic way: I use FSUIPC's feature of auto-saving (interval 1 Minute), which allows me to re-doing better a situation that caused a tragic end of flight. Additionally I let FSUIPC save a "_Previous Flight" situation (I avoid overwriting the default "Previous Flight&...

Re: Lost Ability to Pan Around Cabin/Exterioir - SimConnect Applications
Sorry for not being prezicely enopugh, I worte the last posting during a break at my office, where (of course) no flightsim files are around. What I'm writing about are the situation/scenario files you find unter C:\User\YourName\Documents\Prepar3d v4 Files There all saved flights are stored, consxi...

Re: Lost Ability to Pan Around Cabin/Exterioir - SimConnect Applications
@dmatthieu2: Do you also use the newly created default startup scenario, or another, saved before restoration? I encountered the described loss of panning (except for upward panning) in cockpit view, and in spot view (completly) - for repeated times. My experience is, that all scenarios where this p...

Re: SLEW ?
This is not a flightsim problem, it is a joystick/yoke problem. As soon as the joystick/yoke is only minimally off center, the plane will go mad as soon as you press 'Y'. I know this effect since St.Olim's day, when I plugged in a joystick into my MSFS (must have been Fs2k or so) for the very first ...

Re: Hatswitch panning
Strange enough I encountered exactly the same problem yesterday. I've tried the v4 compatible C310 as well as the A2A C172 and C182.... And then I tried to fuddle with Spad.next to get a zooming function into one of the Saitek Yoke buttons (didn't work)... My solution was to re-install a one-week-ol...

Re: Taxiing looks like sight-seeing the airport
Hi Wil, Aside from your topic: Your screenshot looks as if you have a tracking tool showing your course on Google Earth. With P3Dv3 I still use FsEarthLink for that, but the 64bits of P3Dv4 aren't supported by that tecnology. So I'm eagerly looking for what you seem to have (unless the image is hand...

Re: P3DV4 Crash again......
Maybe a kind of workaround, but in no case anything like a solution: I would use FSUIPC for autosaving the current scenario and make the saved file the default startup scenario. This way you at least will be able to continue your flight from the last saving point (I use an interval of 120 seconds), ...

Re: prop and throttle
Are you using Saitek controls?
(I do since a few days, and I've got to re-learn sim-flying!)
And it's now spooky similar: moving the prop control moves also the lever for mixture control.
A double axis assignment in Spad.next (from the downloaded profile I use) was the culprit.
Michael.
