P3Dv4.3 ground texture day/night problem

At many (most ) default airports in v4.3 scenery P3D displays night ground textures during daytime. This is not region specific, it happens everywhere on the default scenery. In the areas affected there is no add-on scenery installed. I have looked thro' the posts here but no-one else has seems to h...

Re: Upgrading from V4.2 to v4.3

Well Brad, I staggered into my computer room this morning, bleary eyed with coffee mug in hand, dreading the job ahead of me of re-installing everything, and then read your post about 'deleting the generated files'. I had never noticed that option before, hidden among the other stuff, and if I had n...

Re: Upgrading from V4.2 to v4.3

Thanks Rob,

I followed (most of) the check list and now I have the P3D splash screen but now it's stuck there.
A day wasted, how I wish I had never started this update, V4.2 was working beautifully (sigh)

Re: Upgrading from V4.2 to v4.3

On re-reading my reply, I don't think I put my question very clearly

Where will I find the client.msi file for P3Dv4.2 so that I can delete it and install V4.3 ?

Re: Upgrading from V4.2 to v4.3

Thanks for yr reply

I did think of that and looked for the V.3 client but I can't find it. It does not appear in the list of files for Program files\Lockheed Martin\prepar3d

Any ideas where it might be?

[RESOLVED] Upgrading from V4.2 to v4.3

Download went OK, install seemed to go OK. Windows 10 'Apps and features' menu shows v 4.3.29.25520 installed but when I start P3D I can only get v4.2, (which still works fine) I have spent all day trying to solve this but no joy. I have clearly missed something ......any help would be appreciated. ...

Re: v4.2 New helicopter issue

Thanks for your prompt reply Rob. I had installed all the v4.2 modules when I updated but clearly something went wrong. I have since re-installed the content module, which made no difference to my missing helicopter problem, so I uninstalled the client module and then tried to reinstall the whole lo...

v4.2 New helicopter issue

Downloaded and installed v4.2 with apparently no probs, version number shows correct v.4.2 but the new helicopters do not show up in the aircraft selection menu. The files are there in the rotorcraft folder but without their panel folders. Since no-one else has reported this problem in the forum I a...

Re: Have I installed v4.1 or not?

Many thanks for your very prompt reply.

You were correct in your guess that I had not deleted the previous client.msi. That will teach me to properly read the installation instructions in future. All seems OK now.

Thanks again,

Bob.

[RESOLVED] Have I installed v4.1 or not?

I downloaded the v4.1 update with no probs and installed it, again with no probs, although it took the best part of an hour to process the update. I fired up P3D4 and did not notice any difference from the previous version. I checked the version number from the help menu and it still shows version 4...

Access to the scenery library

Not sure if this topic has been aired before, if so I can't find it.

Would it be possible in some future update to enable access to the scenery library without having to start a flight first ?

This was possible in FSX where there was a scenery library button on the opening screen.

Thanks,

Bob.

[RESOLVED] Frame rate indicator on screen

On FSX there used to be a way of editing a line of the FSX.cfg file to show the frame rate ( Ctrl+Z) as an average.

Is this possible with P3D v3 and if so does anyone know the syntax of this line ?

Regards,

Bob May

<t>Thanks for your reply Saul. I was looking in the wrong folder. I have now tried all the "short cuts" I know to get my FSX photo scenery into v2.5 and none of them worked. I have 8 volumes of UK VFR scenery and 3 volumes of UK airfields, it will take all day to add them one by one into the scenery...

<t>I have v2.5 up and running. No probs with installation and performance is outstanding, well done team. However, I want to install my VFR photo scenery that worked well in 2.4. I had referenced the locations from FSX in the v2.4 scenery library. I fondly imagined that all I need do was to import t...
