Re: Debug output

In my case it is not a PDK module, just a regular DLL loaded with simconnect of no to P3D. One thing to note it is not developped in c++. I know that is not officially supported, but so far I never had issues with that until 4.5. I will try to attach the debugger to one of my PDK modules in Visual S...

Debug output

Hello Since the update to v4.5, my debugger gets a lot of breakpoints and debug output messages while running my DLL modules inside prepar3d.exe process. Particularly when changing the vehicle through the menu UI. This slows down the whole process quite extensively (it takes me 2-3 minutes to load v...

Re: Mouse click coords

Ok so I have been playing with the ray casting, and got it to work with a workaround. The only way to make that work was to offset(by a very small distance such as 0.000001m) the LLA of the cast source to another position than the camera LLA itself, otherwise it would always hit something located on...

Re: Mouse click coords

Hello Beau, I am having issues with RayTraceManager. I tried this code: //global variable CComPtr<IRayTraceManagerV340> spRayTraceMgr; //Smart pointer reference to RayTraceManager //.... //at DLL start: //... pPdk->QueryService(SID_RayTraceManager, IID_IRayTraceManagerV340, (void**)&spRayTraceMgr); ...

Re: Mouse click coords

I am trying to use the Iraytracemanager.
I cannot find much info in the PDK documentation. I suppose there is a way from the view matrix to find the unit vector I need?

Re: Mouse click coords

Not necessarily in VC since I need to find the terrain location picked.

Re: Mouse click coords

Hello Beau, BenBaron, thanks to both of you for the answer. I tried the PickResult route, with the Pick ID=0. But my GetPickResults always return with a distance of 0.0 meters, so this is not pointing to the correct world pick location, but only at my own position (offset by the X,Y pixels....). Any...

[RESOLVED] Mouse click coords

Hello,

I very probably am overlooking a plain stupid thing, but is there a simple way in simconnect or PDK module to retrieve the mouse click view window coordinates?
In other words, when I click on a view, I want to know the X,Y pixel coordinates in that view.

Thanks
Jean Luc

Re: Runway postionning

Hello LM team

I would like to revive this thread as I could not find a proper way to match BGL runway data and real-time sim display.
I need a way to accurately position one end of the runway and get the initial true orthodromic heading from that point.

Thanks.

Rendering plugins objects and lighting

Hello LM team, I was playing with the rendering service from the PDK, and particularly with the objects Draw calls (DrawSphere, DrawCylinder, etc). Those are nice little functions, even if it's not possible (for now?) to apply a texture to those objects. However, the biggest limitation for me in fac...

Re: Multi view issues

Hi Adam, To confirm, the issue you are seeing is lack of color consistency, correct? Yes. I could trace the problem to the weather visibility system in P3D. If I use unlimited visibility, the problem "disappears" in the sky, but remains over water. If I use a rather big settings (like 80 km), then i...

Re: Help with DistortionCorrectSpherical post-process

IIRC I was able to make a fixed lighting accross all views, but this was not so beautiful and felt a bit unnatural. However, the luck is when using blending with video projectors, this means the difference in cloud lighting also blends and is not really noticeable anymore. This might not be the case...

Controlling Avatar through PDK

Hello, My goal here is to position a simobject, here an Avatar, and have full control on it through either simconnect or PDK. The simobject in question is NOT the USEROBJECT, it is a remote object. I have an avatar ready, which has some animations I want to use. After a lot of reading, it seems the ...

Re: Runway postionning

Since headings can contain fractional values, are you certain you're getting the correct heading value that is in the physical scenery BGL for the airport? Yes, I am sure, I am talking about <0.05┬░differences, not gross rounding errors of 0.5┬░ or more. I checked with data extracted from BGL files d...
