Re: Where are the instruction to install 5.2
Hi, A very useful approach to this was posted on the OrbX support forum (https://orbxsystems.com/forum) by Nick Cooper. I have used this successfully several times (and it will work whether or not you have OrbX products). Look for the post in the support forum for PREPARD3D posted May 1 2020. It sho...

Any Plans to decrease CPU dependence and increase GPU usage?
Are there plans afoot to take advantage of GPU processing capabilities to improve the functioning of P3D and reduce its CPU bound operation? When I compare GPU use in MS FS 2020 with that in P3D the contrast is striking.

Re: important files P3Dv5
Graham, If you are smart enough to chide the given feedback for its presumed inadequacy, perhaps you should turn your talents to making such a list for those you think might benefit from it. You say you have a complex set up, likely a unique configuration and your list might thus be unique in total....

Re: P3Dv5 HF2 and ASP3Dv5 beta6
Further to the topic. I found that OrbX TE GB and ASP3D Beta6 do not go together well on my system flying Aerosoft A320. Disabling TE GB and using ENG/SCO resulted in acceptable flight. Curious since my system runs two GTX 2080Ti cards. The one that is used shows memory usage of around 5.1GB out of ...

Re: P3Dv5 HF2 and ASP3Dv5 beta6
Yes indeed, and to Aerosoft RonH PS The culprit appears to be ASCA. Without it there is still some P3D stuttering but as soon as ASCA activates weather theme (full dynamic in my case) P3Dv5 HF2 goes into memory slump. Task Manager reports P3D not responding but it is really, just dozing until it rel...

P3Dv5 HF2 and ASP3Dv5 beta6
Flight from Edinburgh to Heathrow, it seems that ASCA activation (v7471) caused massive freezing. Opening task manager indicated that P3D was "not responding" but I noticed that the running memory had plunged and was rebuilding. Waiting it out saw a resumption of the flight as soon as suff...

Not related to ASPD3 since it happens when that is not running.

Re: Minimizing P3D v5 HF1 on Pause
Correction to post. The memory "loss" did occur in P3D v4 HF3 and I'm now wondering if this is caused by the weather programme ActiveSkyP3D. Will test by minimizing both simulators without the weather programme and then update .

Minimizing P3D v5 HF1 on Pause
When pausing the simulator (P3D v5 HF1) then minimizing it to the task bar for a couple of hours, resuming the sim results in a "P3D not responding" message from Task Manager. Examination shows that the memory content has substantially dropped, as if the sim was just being loaded. It will ...

No Landing lights, taxi, or runway turn off P3D v5HF1
Landing PMDG QOTSII 747-8 at Athens (default airport) all lights visible from external view but were not at all illuminating the ground during landing, turn off, taxi etc. The PMDG forum suggests this has something to do with altered lighting characteristics in P3D. Anyone else having this happen? R...

Re: Crash due to terrain.dll
Hi
If you are using any OrbX scenery, you may need to "Verify Files". I had one terrain.dll crash that was most probably the result of my OrbX files (Global base and/or North America LC) which was solved by fixing the files by verification.

Interesting feature at Sault Ste Marie (SSM)
There is an interesting "wall" of water at LAT: N46 26.69 LON:W84 42.46
The anomaly has an A-Frame appearance and makes for an interesting landmark.
I'm truly enjoying P3D v5 HF1

Spectacular topography around CYFC
Just an FYI. There are some very large topography errors in the Saint John river and embankments close to Fredericton airport (CYFC) that were there prior to and after a complete new install with HF1. The normally fairly flat terrain has risen to new heights and the river embankment is now a wall en...
