Re: New Job Scheduler Entries

Thank you for your feedback Beau, that's quite helpful. I'm sure those of us with a little understanding will post some results for review. Can I just comment on how nice it is to see some more active developer contributions here as well. P3D 5.3 is a great point update, and while I certainly don't...

Re: New Job Scheduler Entries

If you want to also test out the new P3D core affinity mask, you can set that with similar values that you might have used before with AffinityMask. This new core mask will largely have the same effect in terms of moving P3D's workloads onto those cores but without preventing other thread outside o...

Yeah finding a GPU is impossible atm unless you wanna pay 3x msrp, which I don’t lol… that’s my next component to upgrade
I didn't pay 3x MSRP 😁 so Im a happy camper 👍

Re: Blurry water - low LOD

Hi, Since v5 and introduction of NVIDIA WaveWorks, water looks really blurry at higher altitudes, even when Water Detail is set to Ultra. This seems like an LOD issue, as it looks so much better at altitudes below 100 feet. Do you have plans to increase LOD radius of water? Currently water looks qu...

NVidia waveworks

Can LM please provide some more ability to alter the waveconstants xml in sim, or provide some technical understanding of how the functions work. At the moment we only have the water detail slider and tessellation controls. The inclusion of NVidia waveworks into P3D5 doesn't appear to have been leve...

Hard agree on this, it's possibly the most irritating visual deficiency because it's so in your face all the time

Perhaps related to this variable in the TrueSKY SDK? https://docs.simul.co/tutorials/sky/variables.html

Re: P3D future development

Here's another possible improvement, unless it's been changed already? Way back in the mists of time (2016 actually), Arno Gerretson discovered a wierd issue with extrusion bridges. See his blog: https://www.scenerydesign.org/2016/07/understanding-extrusion-bridges/ Would be nice to be able to draw ...

Re: P3D future development

So in order of preference, this would be my wishlist please... 1. Ability to make amends to scenery in sim in real time. Mesh and model changes. 2. Ability for ground polys to not have to be flat and to automatically adjust with terrain changes. 3. Truesky improvements - red colours at dawn/dusk are...

Re: P3D future development

Unfortunate as it is to say, I think MSFS points the way in some aspects. I dont want or expect LM to make P3D MSFSmk2, but it's just fact to say that with their strategic approach to how development can be accomplished for their game, Asobo have conmpletely outflanked LM. I would strongly recommend...

Re: P3D future development

18 hours ago, Mace said: Super important. I don't know if things have changed, but when I designed scenery, it was extremely time-consuming to make a change in an object, then have to re-load the sim just to verify the appearance of the change. I spent more time watching the loading/progress bar th...

Re: P3D future development

My thoughts on why some features arent used as much as they could be... 1. Workflow often involves a lot more work, creating models and texture sets. 2. The autogen system in FSX (carried over into P3D) is more forgiving performance wise with default than bespoke models. Better hardware mitigates th...
