Re: Major Lag and CPU spikes
I had a similar issue on my 6 core 12 thread CPU once - I believe I turned off Hyperthreading and that helped. I cannot remember why I'm afraid! Have you tried that to see? Also, may be worth setting an Affinity Mask too - see if that has any effect?

Re: Nvidea 1080TI
I would suggest you go for the 1080Ti if you can. That is what I am about to do. I am just about to build a new system based around the 7700k overclocked with the 1080Ti - I'm going to go with one of the custom boards for better overclocking. I've opted for 32GB of RAM too which is overkill and even...

Re: Best CPU Choices for Prepar3d
Thanks guys for all your responses. I've already plumped for a 7700k which arrived today - I had it delidded and tested and it ran to 5.1Ghz (the guys I got it from tested it for me). I was unable to wait for v4 or more Ryzen optimisations as I needed to get the system built this month before reloca...

Re: System Architecture Question for LM please
I've had a few exchanges now with people by email and on various forums. There is looking like a good argument for more cores at a lower clock speed providing us with good performance and smoothness in P3D. More so if LM do optimise P3D to make better use of multi core CPU's in the future. There is ...

And it's a big +1 from me.

Re: P3D System Specification Advice Please
I wish I knew if/how P3D, V3 and in due course V4 uses multi core and multi thread CPU architecture. Hi Andrew, No worries at all and glad to have perhaps been of some help. I've sent you a direct message via these forums with my email address if you'd like to chat through that as we go through our...

Re: P3D System Specification Advice Please
Hi Andrew, I'm just about to take the plunge on a similar system build to you, the difference being I have been with P3D v3 for a long time now and perhaps can give you some insight. I also use a 1440p monitor in a 3 monitor set up - more of that in a second. Firstly, for P3D today those specs would...

Best CPU Choices for Prepar3d
Hi everyone, It's been a while since I have posted but I'm about to look at building a new computer for myself and seem to be timing it just as things become interesting between AMD and Intel again. It will be a PC built with P3D performance as the focus. I'm certainly going to wait until AMD releas...

Clean Install of P3D v3 - Folders to delete
Hi there, I want to do a clean reinstall of P3D v3 - I have it currently installed. Can someone please remind me which folders need to be deleted after uninstalling? Are they the same as the v2.x folders? Also should I uninstall each aircraft and add on scenery fully separately as best practice or j...

Re: OOM Comparison - V2.5 vs V3
But you have not used a V3 compatible Global Vector installer so your test is invalid. The V3 installer should be released in the next day or so. Is the test really invalid? Will the new P3D v3 compatible installer correct this VAS effect? The new installer will only point to the correct install lo...

OOM Comparison - V2.5 vs V3
Hi all, I thought it would be worth a quick post on something I tried yesterday - I compared P3D 2.5 to 3.0 in an area I know has been guaranteed to give me OOM's in the past. A bit of a disclaimer here - I have used FSCubed to restore my scenery to v3.0 from 2.5 - as official installers come out fo...

<t>In my experience it is the user themselves who have the most impact in relation to OOMs. It usually comes down to unrealistic slider settings, having lots of add ons (either compatible or non v2 compatible) and pushing the sim too hard.<br/> <br/> That said, your problem is quite interesting in s...

<t><br/> i need a permanent fix and i have the estonian migration tool.<br/> <br/> What are you using the EMT for exactly? Don't forget that is to be used for products that have not been made natively P3D 2.x compatible and is used (usually) without the support of developers (e.g. Orbx). If you have...
