Re: P3D not finding existing files

Martyson, Thanks for your replies. I realise I'm using P3D v.4.5, but I also have v.5.0. The trouble is that my favourite aircraft has not been upgraded to work on v.5 - the instrument panel has errors and omissions. So I'm running v.4.5 when I want to fly that one. I'll try contacting FSDT & La...

Re: P3D not finding existing files

Hi, I would attach a screenshot of all 7 messages, (including one in which it says "Can't find any .DAT files!"). https://www.dropbox.com/s/j4jbe46xr0u5gbi/Error%20Messages%20-%20Could%20not%20find.jpg?dl=0 I hope that works as an attachment... The messages show the file names and their lo...

P3D not finding existing files

Hi,
When P3D 4.5 is loading there are a number of error messages saying that P3D cannot find several scenery files.
However these files are present on my PC and exactly where P3D says it cannot find them...
What is causing these error messages?

Re: Scenery Library 'Enable' greyed out

Thanks, Jorge! I was completely baffled.

And how do you use the .xml method to add scenery?

Scenery Library 'Enable' greyed out

Hello, Why is it that Lockheed Martin in their infinite wisdom (?!) decided to muck about with the Scenery Library? Until the release of v.4.0, it was possible to use Scenery.cfg to add, alter and delete scenery items as necessary, which I found extremely useful. You could also edit, delete and move...

Re: Cannot install P3D v5

Jorgen,

I've just ordered the EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 Super Gaming, 08G-P4-3071-K video card, as the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2080 Ti is way too expensive!

It won't be delivered for several days (and cost me CDN$862, including taxes), so I 'll have to wait until I can see if it fixes the problem.

Re: Cannot install P3D v5

Jorgen, Graphics Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 - VRAM: 2GB I see from System Requirements – Prepar3D v5 that 4 GB is the minimum, do you think this is my problem? If so, I should buy the suggested NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2080 Ti. I don't want to upgrade my CPU, as that would probably mean upgrading the...

Is that enough?

Re: Cannot install P3D v5

Vaughan, I tried again to run the P3D installer but this time the error message said I needed .NET 4.8 on my system. So I downloaded .NET 4.8 but installation would not run because it said it was not compatible with my PC... Then tried downloading the P3D v5 SDK - but that also required .NET 4.8! Wh...

Re: Cannot install P3D v5

Thank you, I found the LM download checksum reference on my Account download page and read Aseem Kishore's Checksum article. Then I ran the MD5 & SHA Checksum Utility on the P3D v.5 zip-file (Prepar3D_v5_Academic_5.0.21.34709.zip). It has been running for several hours now but has not generated ...

Re: Cannot install P3D v5

Thank you Marty & Vaughan,

I tried another installation, this time as Administrator, and got exactly the same error message.

How do I verify the Checksum of the downloaded ZIP file? I cannot find how to do this, and have tried right--clicking on it.

Cannot install P3D v5

Hello, When I try to install P3D v5 from the unzipped download (Prepar3D_v5_Academic_5.0.21.34709.zip), the installation stops with the following error message: "Setup Failed. One or more issues caused the setup to fail. Please fix the issues and then retry setup. For more information see the l...

Re: P3D 4.5 crashes to Win 7 reboot

Martyson,

I'll try all those debugging steps again.

In Windows Logs, the Failing Module is C:\Windows\system32\KERNELBASE.dll. Does this imply that it is corrupted?

Re: P3D 4.5 crashes to Win 7 reboot

When I try to run P3d 4.5, with the default scenario and aircraft, it opens for a very brief time (less than 1 second) and then crashes and reboots Win 7.This has happened every time, in spite of uninstalling/reinstalling P3D more times than I can remember, except a couple of times when the scenari...

Re: P3D 4.5 crashes to Win 7 reboot

Note the time of when a crash happens. Then, after rebooting, go to Event Viewer (right-click on the Windows icon, select Event Viewer), go to Windows Logs and then Applications, scroll down to the time where the crash happened and find that cases where Prepar3D appears. What is the "failing m...
