For me in the past solution was to reduce the core clock with 100MHz, with the 1080Ti FTW3 (no thermal issues but it seems that something related to the auto OC created though instability sometimes and only in P3D).

As soon as I use volumetric clouds (medium or ultra) I get this, if the volumetric clouds option is OFF no artifacts on the edges.
I am using 5.3.15.28131 version.

I uninstalled GSX, unchecked in the scenery config (with scenery config editor) SanDiego, Orlando, Kennedy_Space_Center and Rockhampton (no idea to what they belong, does anyone know?) and it started.
add-ons.cfg was also corrupted.

I have the same issue, I deleted all generated files, I reinstalled the common add-ons which were updated for v4.3.. always stucks at splash screen after the scenery is indexed.

Since I switched to 4.2 I encounter annoying stuttering, it can more easily be seen on the ground, at low to medium speeds, more visibile during turns. That was with 4xMSAA, at 4K resolution. My spec is not capable to handle OK the SSAA at night.
