Downloaded latest Academic version 10/04/14

I have Win 7 64 bit.

1.)Tried installing using the installer package but it said mfc100.dll was missing.

I updated MS C++ 2010 x64 redistributable.

Verified that MFC100dll was present.

Attempted to install P3D.

Failed

2.) Uninstalled P3D

clean boot via msconfig/selective startup/hide all MS services

attempted P3D install

Error: Data 1 cab is missing.

Error indicates incomplete download. You can either re-download the broken cab file, but that will probably then lead to more errors, or you can use a reliable download manager to ensure you get the files correctly.

The first 2 times I tried downloading this file was over a Wi-Fi connection. This time I did it on a High Speed DSL. It reached 99% of the download and remained there forever. I finally had to get out of the download and now I have a .partial file that is showing 10.6 Gig but is not complete. Last download was with IE. I also tried it with Firefox and Opera. I returned to view the download manager and it doesn't show any record of the last download attempt. LOL It's really aggravating. I was really looking forward to the Lockheed Martin experience.

I tried downloading some other programs and was successful.

This last patch I had to download 3 times. All in all it was okay, I always expect problems from a very large download. What really help is the checksum numbers listed by LM, if you get a checksum program (some download managers have them built in) you can save at least the wasted time trying to install a bad download.

Such is computer life.

I thought the recommended download did not concern the patches. Not sure what you mean. Also. what is a checksum program and the checksum numbers listed by LM?LOL Why am I having such a time of it downloading 1 file from Lockheed Martin? This is not my first time downloading a program.

I've used Opera this time around in order to resume downloading after any interruption.

Downloading completed.

I clicked on the installer, it goes through the validation, begins installing and then I get a window that reads "Source File not found." /data1.cab

Looking at winzip, data1.cab through data9.cab are present.

Prepar3d.msi and setup.exe are also present.

I'm at a dead end in installing this program.
