Running P3D 4.5 smoothley in 2019 (LM has a long way to go)

So after testing a milion of diffrent combination with my 3 screen set up , the only way i found p3d to be smooth is lowering the the Refresh rate from 144 htz to 50 htz in my case is the maxiumum i can go down to with v-sysnc enabled.
Now keeping 50 fps all the time in big airports and heavy weather impossible . So conclusion fps lim in p3d make the sim stutter and lag same in nvidia inspector. So this is the only ways . Its amazing that with all this tech we have today with still have to run and these crapy settings that where good 10 years ago . yes of cours graphics are better ,airports are better . but what we need is a better 3d engine with much higher fps and a fps limiter that works . i regret the good all days of fs9 fs 2004 when evrything was so smooth , of course its hard to compare now and befoure as the scnery now are very complex . But i think LM should focus on a new engine and leave behide the old crapy fsx code wich is more the 10 years old . having said that having a computer of 3500 euro and a sim over 35000 and enjoying lag and stuttering in 2019 is not very good . i start to undersatnd why so many people move to xplane even if i dont like it that much .

Your post makes absolutely no sense without your hardware specs, especially CPU and graphics card.

You are confusing the display refresh rate with the simulation frame rate? I'm not going to expand on why that is erroneous.

Limiting the simulation frame rate is a valid way to improve performance. Basically, by limiting the rendering to 24 fps, which is what I use, gives the rendering engine significantly more time to render each frame than if running unlocked and the animation is fluid and stutter free.

No I am not confusing anything my FPS go over 190 in mega airports in unlimited. so no problems FPS wise . My problem when I what to limite the FPS p3d stutters like hell . They only way it stay smooth it's lowering the screen refresh rate and use v-sync and at 50 htz very smooth but making my cards work double . With p3d 4.4 had the internal limiter set to 33 and its was very smooth .now it's seems to cause massive stuttering and long frames. I have been building setups for the past 15 years for flight simulation so I know what I am talking about . If it's work for you great .but in my case it does not . No offense of course . I

Did you try to work with straight divisors for your VSYNC/screenrefresh rate/FPS limiter setup? I realized that the only way I can have P3Dv4.5 stutter free on my G-SYNC 144Hz monitor is:

- disable G-SYNC for P3D via nVIDIA Profile Inspector
- limit the refresh rate of the monitor to 120Hz instead of 144Hz
- use the internal limiter of P3D with a setting of 30FPS (straight divisor of 120).

144Hz straight divisor would then be 36FPS. But as I prefer higher settings over sheer FPS numbers, I went for the 120Hz/30FPS solution, as for 36FPS I would have to dial back to much settings...

I've seen an instance (which was not related to P3d) where a high-speed monitor created image problems while running specific applications; and the problems persisted until the monitor itself had been adjusted to disable its 144 Hz refresh setting.

Hi , thanks for your input , soory i was on vaction , will give it a try and get back to you :-)
Thanks .

Best regards

So negtivie same results if i touch the fps lim i have stutters . what driver version are you using ?
