PBR and older GPUs

Hi!

This may probably be a dumb question but both Google and the forum search didn't bring me any further:

What happens if a user uses a scenery with PBR materials but has an older GPU installed (in my case an 8 year old AMD Radeon 7800 series which most likely never was intended for PBR)?

Will Prepar3D create a fallback to P3D Materials or will is it still able to display PBR to some extend?

I have been able to get smoothness on some test PBR materials applied displayed properly. But currently I don't have a more up to date GPU that I can compare it to.

Bests,
Sascha

If your graphics card supports DX11 then there is not an issue.

PBR is not something that is unique to the GPU; rather, it is an extension to how materials and lighting are defined within the model and rendered by P3D. The only requirements for PBR are current P3D version and that a developer has applied the PBR tools in the SDK to their products.

Makes sense with the system requirements for P3D including DX11.
Thank you very much for the clarification, Dan!
