My solution for all GPU errors and flickering simconnect menu was:

Open NVIDIA Control Panel. Click on 3D Settings → Manage 3D settings. Scroll down to the bottom of the list and locate the Threaded Optimization. Change the value to Off.

Hope that helps

Kind regards from Austria

@ Puukka ,

What was the original (bad) setting?

Mine is Auto, no problems.

Hi Vaughan

At my PC the problems always began, when activating the simconnect menu from PRO-ATC/X.

FPS where reducing to half when I´ve undocked it to at a second monitor.
Even when I used it docked at same monitor it started to flicker and also seperated windows of the aircraft as the FMC panel window.
At several occasions the GPU crashed, sometimes showing "stopped rendering reason unknown", sometimes with the "error device hung"

I´ve updating my NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER driver to 27.21.14.5638.
As I remember right, there were more options available before updating, now I only can set it to Auto, On or Off.

Seems, the default value is On, I´ve just gave it a try, Auto seems to work fine too!

Kind regards,
Herbert

That´s strange

The default value is Auto and it seem to work now, but at my system putting it to off once repair my sim after weeks of troubles and tests at once.

Hope that might help others, too.

Kind regards,
