Re: Monitor upgrade

So will I see any improvement if I upgrade to ONE monitor with a higher refresh rate? As in less stutters or tearing? Forget display refresh rate, it's almost irrelevant to display quality with P3D. Many users are quite happy with 30 Hz and locked VSync if their computers are powerful enough. Also,...

Re: p3d and seqm

I have SEQM from Flightbeam for P3Dv4 and use PFPX for flight planning. I have no idea what you mean by doesn't accept flight plans.. do you mean when trying to load the .pln file into P3D? Is this related to the same topic found in the AVSIM forum?

Re: Is there a "wild card" ILS approach frequency?

No such thing David (in aviation, maybe a game had such a feature); and actually there's no need for such a thing. If you need to fly an ILS approach then you need to have the charts. That's the rules. Hello to Huntington from an old guy who spent much of his youth in WV, South Charleston for school...

Re: P3D / FS Real Time - Time Zone west coast USA

Hi Vaughan: The default time zones in P3D are "close" in populated areas and not so close elsewhere. I don't expect LM to update time zones because there are changes worldwide so along with default scenery if one desires higher fidelity one must obtain 3d party add-ons. I am using SimElite Solutions...

Re: Filing Navigraph Flight Plans

The default folder for flight plan .pln files is the \Documents\Prepar3D v4 Files folder. When you click the load button on the default navigation UI it goes to this folder.

3d party applications and addons vary significantly.

Re: Autogen

I used to see this happen occasionally, and only in a few places, but I haven't see it happen since many versions earlier.

What version P3D and provide a description of your computer.

Re: Massive Trench - New England USA

Using any non-default mesh? I am using an addon mesh from Pilot's along with the Orbx NA and Canada openLC products and that spot looks pretty normal in my view from about the same spot and altitude. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/t1j6L2e8baPpGTrcvtVE2oMUPLS0ow7ncNc_Np2VojTuW3WKQDxgPNEXT3FTVBQFgE...

Re: RAM ???

Agree, I have 32GB and never seen the physcial memory use rise above 12 GB. However, unless you have a very slow memory I don't think you will see any benefit to faster memory. The memory is not the problem, especially with the huge amount of caching used by P3D for terrain. In most cases, the bottl...

Re: Madagascar Ivato FMMI problem scenery

That looks like an Orbx Vector AEC problem, if you have Vector then add FMMI to the disabled list (Vector control panel, AEC tab). Cliffs around an airport is almost always a Vector AEC issue.

Re: Reloading Terraindata inflight

There is an action that can be assigned to a key or button that refreshes terrain textures. Not assigned by default but this is one possibility for what you see.

Re: FSX Libraries

One way to find out, just add the library to ADE (see the ADE user manual) and add a building from the library you added to an ADE project, complile it and add it to P3D add on scenery. This is quicker than lurking in forums.

Re: dll.xml folder not found

You definitely need to take this up with the developer of the installation package. The XMLTool is a module used to modify xml gauges and has been around a long time, it is loaded by the simulator when it is registered correctly in the dll.xml. P3D will create an empty dll.xml if it finds either of ...
