In order to make usage of my Thrustmaster Warthog with FSUIPC I have disabled the controller as per guideline by unchecking the option. The downside became soon clear: I could no longer use the mouse anymore for zooming and panning.

Re-enabling that setting brought the mouse back immediately.

So can that option to enable / disable controllers exclude the mouse, please?

You can enable mouse look within FSUIPC itself, with controllers disabled in P3d. Open the FSUIPC menu and look on the misc tab.
