i5 3570 vs i7 3770

Postby Tekk » Thu Jan 24, 2019 5:34 pm

Hi. Is there any reason to change i5 3570 to i7 3770 for Prepar3D v3?
How noticeable will be the performance difference? Thanx.

No, there is no reason for such a change, as P3Dv3 does not really profit from hyperthreading. Instead, you should go for a 3750K or 3770K model and overclock this to 4.3-4.5GHz. Such a change you would realize, but also not tremendously. And, of course, overclocking only works on a Z-board and with some basic knowledge...

Please explane me: I've got Core i5 3570 (5-th generation, 2012) 3.4GHz, 4 Cores, 4 threads, 6Mb cash. Let's move for 5 years later. 7-th generation (Kaby Lake, 2017). 3.5Ghz, 4 Cores, 4 threads, 6Mb cash. Almost all specs are the same. Except of memory speed and temperature efficiency. But It doesn't matter for P3D. What are the benefits?

In essence little to no change performance wise.
