Wills,

the ratio between 2.3 and 2.4 is of about 1 to 10, for rotating clouds.
Strange but true.

Has anyone tried the 2.3 shader files in 2.4 to see if the issue is fixed? I usually don't fly with clouds so I'm not seeing this often, but today I made a test flight with the Fogged In weather theme, and at least half of the clouds were vertical and rotating heavily. Very distracting issue.

hi
I would like to know if you have any suggestions LM
I continue to have the clouds rotating I tried REX and OPUS but I have the same condition

Possible that every time an update comes out better of things and it worsens other?

Come on guys it's been a bit of time from output 2.4 why not give us a hand to simmer with these damn clouds rotating

I hope for a response

greetings

Cloud.fx from v2.3 is really really better.
I think the problem does not disappear completely, but I almost never see it now with 2.3 shader.

I finally bought ASN and it's fantastic now.

thanks rolby

But why LM does not have an answer? ..... Maybe hiding behind the clouds rotating?
ridiculous
Version 1.4 does not have these stupid problems

I was able to eliminate the vertical clouds by using the V2.2 Cloud.fx and Cloud2.fx

1. Backup the two Cloud.fx and Cloud2.fx files in ..\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\ShadersHLSL
2. Locate your v2.2 Cloud.fx and Cloud2.fx files (hopefully you have backups of prior versions) and copy them to ..\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\ShadersHLSL
3. Delete your shaders folder i.e. C:\Users\Rob\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\Shaders
4. Fly

If you don't have v2.2 files handy, I'll seek if I can get permission to post a link to these two files. Please do NOT PM me about getting these files.

Here is a quick video I made testing out various weather and views:

Excellent news Rob. I did wonder about this.

I really hope you are granted permission to post links to these files, as I no longer have my backups from 2.2, only 2.3 :(

Mick,

That listing you provided is not the same as my base v2.2 files ... I've removed your post until I get word from LM.

EDIT: Yes they work with ASN also ... see video CYUL:

Here ya go, new file direct from LM

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw0Q-fAfEZwyaXRudXdZQ1BSbGc/view?usp=sharing

This IS NOT a v2.2 file, it is a modified v2.4 Cloud.fx ONLY file. If you've copied your v2.2 Cloud2.fx into v2.4, replace it with the original v2.4 Cloud2.fx.

I tested with default clouds/weather and with ASN ... I didn't see any vertical clouds in my 30 minutes of testing.

So the new process:
1. Backup the Cloud.fx file in ..\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\ShadersHLSL
2. Copy the file downloaded from my link to ..\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\ShadersHLSL
3. Delete your shaders folder i.e. C:\Users\Rob\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\Shaders
4. Fly

Cheers, Rob.
