Same thing happens with V2. As soon as there is a document for exaple a flight control settin the sim crashes. Deleting all files from the D3D V 2 Files in user documents solves the issue - hardly a solution though.

Even though I have FTX Central on my screen and can click on the area I wish to fly in to activate, the scenery does not show up with a flight, it is back to P3D default.

Still, doesn't work after latest update; when moused over the programme crashes.

And there goes week 2.

This thread is really funny. People keep installing an update that they know causes problems, and they keep having problems after they do that. You can't make this stuff up.....

Hello,
It has been OK only for a couple of hours. CTD again at the end of loading.
Best regards

Yeah this is kind of a pointless post but I thought I'd share anyway.

Last night I disabled FSL Spotlights and removed FSUIPC from the modules folder. P3d v3.4 Actually loaded with the PMDG 737-800. I didn't have time to do a whole flight but it worked for the better part of an hour. I had to quit and go out. I came home and and tried to restart V3.4 and it crashed as it has been doing. Here's the weird part. P3d V4 wouldn't start either. I had to reboot my system.

V4 came back to life but sadly V3.4 did not. I thought that maybe that I was on to something. I guess it was just luck that it worked. The offending update is still installed on my system. I won't remove updates any longer. If something goes wrong you get caught in the "Repairing your system loop". The only fix for that is to reinstall windows. That happened to me a couple of months ago. Not again!

I think that it is not fair to lay the blame on LM for this debacle. Before the Windows update came out, the simulator was working fine on most systems. If installing the update causes P3D to crash or behave erratically, it is on Microsoft's part - after all, LM didn't update their simulator, and it worked flawlessly prior to the update.

So it is up to Microsoft to get their s#.. .. eh, nonsense together and fix this thing. Incidents like these are withholding me from giving up on Windows 7 entirely.

Same issue after update today KB4040724 I had to uninstall it..
Looks like if u uninstalled KB4038788 previously it reinstalls when updating, like u missed the update.
But when checking I can't see the KB4038788 maybe all cumulative KB4040724.

Well it's working now after uninstalling.

I have Googled KB4038788 Problems . It would seem that not only has MS screwed up P3D but also much of their own software as well.

So it is not LM's fault.

The same for me. I have two copies of P3DV3.4, one on a gaming laptop and the other on my main flight sim PC. The sim fails and crashes at 100% on loading, however.... I can use the sim by creating a flight plan instead of loading an aircraft and Airport.

I also have P3DV4 on my flightsim PC and that is working perfectly.

Both my laptop and main PC are running the latest version of windows 10 x 64 version 1703 but although I have windows update KB4038788 installed, I do not have the option to uninstall it.

Microsoft "fixed" a few security holes and probably creates plenty of new problems. That's the price of "windows as a service". If you choose to uninstall KB4038788 or even KB4040724 don't forget to install https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.co ... =KB4034674 afterwards...
