Have the same problem: Prep3d V3 crashes after installing Update KB403788 - uninstalling of Update solves the problem, Prep3d V4 works fine with Update KB4038788

I solved it yesterday with this attempt:
Starting P3Dv3.
Loading a simple aircraft (f.e. Cessna) on target-airport and target-stand.
P3Dv3 loads fine and is working.
Then change aircraft to target-aircraft.
P3Dv3 is still working and i flew over an hour without problems.

Before you have time to HIDE it Windows10 update downloads and installs again the KB4038788 update.
Only way to stop it for me was to:
1. Go Off line
2. Uninstall it
3. Reboot windows
4. STOP the Windows Update Service from "Services(Local)"
5. Connect the PC back to Internet
6. Wait for a future update on the issue.
This worked perfect for me

Is it possible that a Moderator from LM can give Us an update, are we looking at any sort of time frame for a fix or any idea what MS thinks is the cause?

What is the big deal, just uninstall the one update causing the problem and hide it..

Hello LM Team,

thanks Kayla for clarifying the next steps in this fairly annoying MS update issue.

I am still wondering, since it concerns obviously only Prep3D V3 (not V4) as far as I understood,
is the fixing expected on MS and/or LM software side ?

A clean reinstallation of Prep3D V3 would be a pain...
I am on Prepar3D_v3_Professional_3.4.22.19868, everything was fine until I struggled
with the MS update issue just after my holiday...

Many thanks for your help

Helmut

Any recommendations as to how to uninstall this update? For some reason I don't have the option to roll back to a previous version of Windows 10 under the Recovery tab. I'm not the sharpest when it comes to drivers, updates and all this more tech stuff!

Neither was I, that's why I followed this short simple video on how to disable Win 10 Update services
unfortunately only in German

V4 is working fine. V3 is the one with the issue.

Uninstalled the update 3 times and now my computer goes into a Repair Cycle and never boots up...

Thank You very much Microsucks

I had THE same issue, a system restore was necessary to boot up again, unfortunately I still have the get CTD with V3 with no MS update

Hello Everyone,

I've been trying to solve this stupid problem , but nothing Works. I'm also trying to follow the latest forums and I think We all have the same unsolved problem I guess. So long story short the addon aircrafts like fslabs A320x is still not working right now right?

It loads %100 and then it crashes...

So what is the latest action? Are we waiting ?

Helmut,

I reinstalled the Client and Content for Prepar3dv3.4 and it didn't work, there appears to be a conflict with MS system and Prepar3Dv3.4 files causing this....we are at the mercy of the Techs at MS and LM for a solution, so we can only wait...patiently.

You can hide/disable any update/driver from being automatically installed by using this tool from Microsoft.

I'm personally using Windows Update MiniTool, which is a lot more flexible and powerful.

V4 is being affected with this update. I had to uninstall to or V4 would cause a BSOD
