This is very disheartening. I really hope AMD acts quickly on this (if it really is a problem on their end). 14.12 drivers are almost 10 months old! I may just end up going back to 2.5 depending on how long this takes.

Edit: I sent AMD a bug report, but I implore LM to be proactive with this issue. As more and more people try out version 3 this issue is going to spread. The r9 280(x), 290(x), and the new 300 series are some of the most popular AMD graphics cards out there. I'm extremely surprised this issue made it through testing!

That's indeed disapointing. I hope AMD can release very fast a new beta driver, with this issue fixed. Maybe also LM can find a own fix for the problem. So wait and see...

until then I downgraded my driver. 14.12 runs on win 10, not the best solution, but...

R7 260X 2G D5 OC Version
SAPPHIRE R7 260X with new AMD TrueAudio Technology, enable games feature more realistic environmental dynamics, sound effects, and directional audio. With new AMD Eyefinity Technology, R7 260X now supports up to 3 monitors. With 2GB of the latest GDDR5 memory and 896 stream processors, and support for DirectX 11.2, the architecture is built to play the very latest games with perfectly smooth action even at higher resolutions.

Yes my card is DirectX 11.2 so there should be no problem there.

Hello I have windows 10 and AMD R9 290x graphics cards with 15.2 drivers and Prepar3d crashes like the rest of these people in here. When will this be fixed? Downgrading drivers in a new operating system that has constant fixes in the latest versions is not really a good option.

Some insight and updates on this problem would be great.

I as well am having the same AMD issue/problem and I am sure that the issue/problem is being worked on and really hope a fix will be posted soon...really do not know if anybody will work on it over the weekend though. My question is: where will the fix be posted, here at LM or over at the AMD driver download site?

Hi Robert!

Sorry you too are experiencing this. Beau said yesterday that he will swap graphics cards in one of the test machines today to see if he can discover more. Until then I here catalyst 14.12 works. Hopefully we'll get some news later or tomorrow that can at least point you and the rest of the folks here in the right direction.

Add another user to the list of P3D v3 installations that's crashing (Radeon R9 200, Win 10)

Kinda surprised this wasn't caught in the beta, and non-support for Win 10 was not something I would've even thought to check on before purchase (considering there's pretty much a gazillion users of Windows 10 out there right now).

Beau Hollis wrote:We did test on a range of hardware, as do our beta testers, but we did not test heavily on windows 10 given that it was still in development for much of our beta. Windows 10 is not listed as an officially supported OS for that reason, but we will of course do our best to resolve any issues we can. Windows 7 and 8 apps should work in windows 10 of course provided the operating system and drivers are working properly. We do not see this issue on similar hardware in windows 7, so it may be an issue with windows 10 or the AMD driver. We will swap out graphics cards with one of our windows 10 machines tomorrow and see if we can reproduce the issue.

Beau, I sent you a PM which isn't leaving my Outbox for some reason. Perhaps you have disabled PMs. Offered help, so perhaps you want get in touch with me. Thanks, Jan.

What disturbs me is that in fact, their FAQ says that windows 10 is supported.

I looked up our system specs before i posted. I hadn't notice the post in the FAQ. Sorry for any confusion. As it turns out, this driver issue is not specific to windows 10. Sorry for any confusion.

I did try the 14.12 drivers with windows10 and my R290 card with no luck and yes, I did remove the 15.71 drivers via the control panel.

Windows10 started but needed screen adjustments manaully. V3 started up with black screen. :(

...the wait continues!
