I am reading more and more reports about this problem on various forums. Maybe LM could look into this? There clearly is something wrong here!

Same problem here. Setting terrain shadows at 0 is the only 'solution' so far. I have since this occasionally with 2.2 too but with 2.3 things have gotten a LOT worse. It is a terrain shadow problem and has nothing to do with the clouds.

Well, what a coincidence: today someone posted on Avsim how you can tweak the transition time!

http://forum.avsim.net/topic/449406-faster-hdr-tweak/#entry3056884

You have to edit a file called HDR.hlsl. Maybe it can be used to change the darkening effect too! That posts ind...

I already know how to use DXTBMP (thanks for the info anyway ;) ) but that's not a solution imho. For instance at dawn the panel looks great: if I would have edited the panel to look better at noon, it would probably look awful at dawn.

ENB style parameters would be great indeed. There ...

A2A already saves its own panel state so it needs that option to be turned off or you will get conflicts and this message.

A fair bit of customization options would serve everyone better. Perhaps a Slider, or even ENB-style parameters.

Just found out the problem begins when the time has passed somewhere around 5 PM. This is on a summer's day. So to 'solve' this issue I will be flying around noon only for now... In 2.2 I didn't do any flights around dawn or dusk because fps would plummet down. 2.3 solved this but now I still can't ...

1. Terrain shadows show up as dark grey hard edged blobs on the ground, usually in front of me. Looks terrible and kills the immersion. Only 'solution' is to turn them off completely.

2. Cloud shadows turn on and off depending on where I look with TrackIR. Just did a flight at 7.45 PM a...

EDIT
I found out my PC wasn't assembled as well as it should be and after repairing things myself and doing a few more tests (not too many because I'm tired of testing) I settled for a certain setup that works good enough to keep my happy for now. I am still disappointed with the overall impro...

The profile in nVidia's CP is already using the default global settings so what would removing that profile help? P3D would STILL use the default global settings if you would remove it... Besides, you can't delete profiles in nVidia CP's (unless you created them yourself).

I haven't used Inspector at all so there can't be a problem there, I suppose. Afaik if you delete a profile in Inspector you are simply using the nVidia global settings.

Thanks for the various tips, Rob!

Concerning your last remark: yes, I do see a difference, I can indeed add a few graphic options, but 1. I can add less options than I hoped/expected, 2. I get artifacts (like the ones I had with FSX and bufferpools: autogen spiking into the sky) and 3. ...
