Re: PILOT RECORDS PARTIAL POSTING NO EDIT

It is pretty common to have missing or incorrect origin/destination ICAO codes, much depends on the scenery and there are times where you are at a major airport but you happen to be closer to a smaller airport center than your big airport center. This can happen at PANC and KMIA. The solution is to ...

Re: 16 or 32 RAM

Your new 8700K on a z370 mobo should be capable of DDR4 speeds of up to 4333 Mhz, although in practical terms those memory sticks are going to be hard to find. I just updated my box with an 8700K and SLI 1080Ti x2, I selected the Corsair Dominator Platinum 32G to get a stock 3600 Mhz out of the box....

Re: Addon Scenery

Adding addon scenery via the Scenery Library, or more precisely the scenery.cfg file, is the legacy method. Using the xml method was introduced in v3 and in v4 became the preferred method, which is explained very clearly in the SDK you may access via the Learning Center. The advantage to the xml met...

Re: KMCO Scenery Question using Taxi2Gate

Some AI traffic addons install their own AFCADs, which will cause this problem. I also have the T2G KMCO and their latest update for P3Dv4 works very well.

Re: simconnect with dubble p3d (v3 +v4) instalation?

I am not familiar with your 'wether' program; however, there should be differences between an application that runs along side or within P3D because v3 is 32b and v4 is 64b. A 3rd party program that uses a simconnect module to communication with the simulator will have to have either a 32b or 64b mo...

Re: P3DV4 Crash again...... - PMDG 77W

Thanks Dan, I'll look into that. The learning curve for me with P3D has been huge. It does seem more fragile than FSX, but wow, is it nice when everything is firing on all 8 cylinders :-) Scott Scott: I think it is a very robust application. The issues with video drivers has nothing to do with P3D ...

Re: Delete Generated Files... What now?

It deletes all the program generated configuration files including dll.xml and exe.xml, which are often used by developers to hook their modules into P3D. I am not following your problem, I don't know why you used the nuclear option and if it solved your problem. There is no way I can be of much ass...

Re: happend twice computer shutdown and restart Flying P3DV4

Maybe a language problem. When you say shutdown and restarts that means to me the computer powers down like when you select shut down from the start menu. If this is what is happening then it has nothing to do with software but as Vaughan points out, you have a hardware problem. If there is no blue ...

Re: Delete Generated Files... What now?

Yes. Did you back up the old scenery.cfg? Run the Orbx FTX Central, it will fixup the orbx items most likely without the need to download anything. Run the FSGlobal repair and again, nothing is deleted but the cfg file so the scenery folders and files are still there. This is not a catastrophic even...

Re: P3DV4 Crash again...... - PMDG 77W

Be advised that the clean install option afforded by the NVidia installer is not what you might think it is. It only means that it ignores your settings and installs the new driver with default settings. It does not remove all NVidia files and replace with new. Only updates the files required for th...

Re: Upgrade Advice, if needed

Agree with Jorge, as long as you are paying someone else to put together the computer parts. You can cut costs by a third to half by building your own. I migrated from the 4790K to the 6700K early 2016 and saw immediate improvements in P3D performance. The 6700K introduced us to DDR4 memory and here...

Re: Bulk Scenery Files

If the scenery addon had been linked in accordance with the SDK, then all you would need to do is rebuild the documents folder for P3D addons and the xml files would do the linking for you. This has become much more common in v4 and most addon developers are migrating towards this "better way of doi...

Re: Noise wheel on rudder on same axis?

Some clarification would help understand what you are trying to do. A joystick normally controls pitch and roll (elevator and aileron) and not yaw (rudder) unless you have a stick that has an extra axis such as twist. Assigning your controller to the rudder axis will also provide nose wheel steering...

Re: How to increase ATIS range

Interesting. What source do you have that ATIS should have 200 nm range? That would be extraordinary for a VHF low power line of sight transmission. In reality, the ATIS is generally in the 40-50 nm range and I base this on many decades of GA flying. One typically checks the ATIS before Center hands...

Re: P3DV4 Crash again...... - PMDG 77W

I just completed a B77W flight KMIA-SBGR closer to 8 than 6 hours no problem, and I've been flying the B77W since beta testing it and although I've had an experience with kernelbase errors, they were not attributable to the PMDG 777 product. There are different things that can trigger the kernelbase...
