Re: Prepar3D v4.5 crashes at random

Computers don't slow down because you add stuff.... and, what do you mean by it slowed down? Slow program loading times? Slow what?

Re: P3D v4.5 Day textures at Night

How did you update? What did you update (one or more components or entire update)? I don't believe you could possible have provided less information for which others to start basing pure guesses.

Why do you think it is hardware related?

What scenery addons do you have?

Etc.

Re: P3d v4 keeps CDT after clicking the menu

Google kernelbase errors, there are hundreds of things that can cause this problem. In my experience it is usually display related but that just my POV.

Re: Safest way to update 4.2-->4.5?

Updating just the client is absolutely safe. It is easy. Remove old version of client through Windows settings. Download and install new client. Done. When uninstalling old version you are asked if you want to deactivate or turn in your license which is something you only do if you are changing OS o...

Re: Prepar3D v4.5 crashes at random

Reinstalling Windows is a very unusual event. Why? If you reinstalled your OS to try to solve a problem then one possibility is that that approach failed. Also, reinstallation of software is rarely recommended by any support team because it more often than not introduces new problems and may also ma...

Re: Tool to show us what is using up the most resources within P3D.

Dan,

I looked for that guide on AVSIM and couldn't seem to locate it. Could you maybe provide a link to it?

Thanks -

Jorgen
On any AVSIM forum page, look at right side of page for list of things under heading Hot Spots. Sixth item down.

Re: Prepar3d v4.5 : another application is already running

P3D can take more than a minute after it looks closed on the display to actually close. Two things, first always wait for more than a minute before re-launching P3D. Second always wait for at least a minute after closing P3D before shutting down Windows. If a process is running when you shut down Wi...

Re: Tool to show us what is using up the most resources within P3D.

There is a good Guide for Prepar3D in AVSIM written by one of the LM beta testers. I includes a guide to what each option or setting has impact or CPU, GPU or both.

Re: The use of .off

In addition to Dan's suggestions I'll add that I use the .OFF method often without problem. For example, I may have an addon airport that I want to make some minor changes to the AF file with ADE, which after compiling one ends up with a second AF file. Only one at at time should be used so I'll tur...

Google kernelbase errors. There are many many things that can cause this. My number one item to check is the display driver but there are other things that can cause it.

Re: Very poor performance on arrival - any airport

The only item I'd look at would be your scenery draw distance. Try decreasing that to mid range, it will not affect the quality of terrain textures but decreases the number of scenery objects (not autogen) being loaded.

Re: TrackBall Mouse issues with New Build

Try hitting Esc to stop the scrolling? Kind of sounds like the device is switching from point and click mode to scroll mode. Look to Kensington documentation for help. I doubt that it is anything in P3D but I'm not looking over your shoulder. I found the Kensington products to be okay for my office ...
