Re: MORE WORK INTO THE GPU

Not sure if it is possible or beneficial to give more jobs to the gpu in the sim. It most times has been the number of objects and their animations in the scene that has brought down the performance which bottlenecks the single main thread carrying core of the cpu. A performance improvement could ha...

Re: Autogen Tree and Building Height Scaling

Aside from the autogen objects, generic airport buildings and stock detailed airports as well generally seem to be taller than their real world or addon counterparts (eg ksfo, kewr). Could have been in FSX heights of all 3d scenery objects were bumped by a certain fraction to make them more visible ...

Re: Possible new VAS issue in v3.4

Did not see improvement in 3.4 with full install hot fix 2 as well, p3d disappeared on long haul at descent. Reverted to full 3.3.5, back to normal no crash.

behavior after aircraft crash

Hi
Is it possible to choose what to do after a crash? The sim automatically restarts flight, I would like it to for eg open flight analysis window and stop there.

Re: Possible new VAS issue in v3.4

There seem to be two things then - not only just vas management issue but also high vas usage using up all 4gb at certain scenes in normal conditions, latter which can only be fixed by 64 bit and former might still arise even in 64 bit if not managed well enough.

Re: More settings options and save options

Separate settings for various texture resolutions - user aircraft, ai objects, ground, clouds, airports buildings rather than a single global one might also come useful. Also a setting for the cloud and ground shadow resolution with a separate one for VC as 2048 is overkill for others.

Re: are we having an earthquake?

I read an advice somewhere that disabling nagle algorithm in simconnect might help with this. Try if it works for you.

Here too no Orbx, never saw an OOM before 3.4.

Re: ANY PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT IN 3.4 UPDATE?

If that happens then unlike dlls I suppose bgls would require only a conversion utility (I hope) akin to model converter x to become compatible with the 64bit engine?

Re: Stutter every 3 seconds

After lowering graphics settings to maintain some margin in vram I have been able to run p3d mostly without these periodic stutters. However after leaving p3d running a session for 5 days, I relaunched the sim and completed a short return flight without problems, then decided to max the load radius ...

How to prevent terrain pattern

I am commonly noticing this immersion breaking behavior where at cruise in good visibility I can see patterns and linearity in the way terrain textures are being placed on the ground, not in immediate vicinity but some distance away. Any way I can prevent or minimize this? I use default scenery.

Re: Affinity Mask, yes or no?

On 4790 first I was using no AM HT on and letting p3d use all cores for a while. Then changed to AM=85 to give tasks their own physical core and got +4 increase in frames with lesser fluctuation compared to no AM where I was getting 32fps. Now decided to experiment bit further so turned off HT and r...

Re: AI landing roll-outs

I would like to see this too, but I think it was one and simple solution done in fsx to cover big and small airports AI may visit where in real life planes may be lightly loaded and land at very short distance. I suppose other than expanding AI function it would require additional information in afc...
