Correct sound setup for headphones?
In using headphones with p3d what is the correct way to setup sound device so that directional sounds are heard correctly? In win 7 there seems to be only a stereo mode selectable that shows two speakers in front which perhaps produce stereophonics according to that sound source placement, which may...

Re: P3D v4.1 Ghost propeller engine noise
The sound bug is an annoyance here as well, don't know what exactly causes the ghost sounds to trigger. The Q method works only sometimes and not others. Perhaps the sound engine is too dated to handle all the quantity and needs to be upgraded to current tech similar to graphics.

Re: System date startup screen
Restore time on move is unchecked but I suppose it doesn't have a use at the startup screen, the issue is only related to the startup screen not the in sim change of location after scenario launch. Tried disabling all addon scenery and modules which didn't change the result. After further trial it s...

Re: System date startup screen
I will try to be more specific to reproduce the issue: 1. Have your default flight set to the stock prepar3d default scenario 2. Launch p3d app 3. At startup screen note the date, tick the GMT time check box 4. Change airport to YSSY Sydney and press ok to return to main startup screen 5. Check the ...

Re: System date startup screen
Hi 1. Launch p3d 2. Mark the GMT Time checkbox on the startup screen 3. Change airport I am seeing that this happens when changing to in and out of Australia, NZ, Paupa New Guinea, Indonesia regions only. On taking further look at the default flight, p3d is not changing to the flight's saved date as...

System date startup screen
It is nice to see GMT time working normally in current version of p3d v4 when changing a location with gmt box checked. However a small bug remains as upon changing the location while the gmt remains preserved, the date changes to that of the saved default flight. Hope this also gets fixed in the ne...

In sim loading of flight plans
It would be convenient to have the ability of loading saved flight plans from within the atc menu itself by listing the flight plans present in the p3d document files folder, without having to interrupt the sim with opening the flight planner window. Currently both creating and opening a plan requir...

Weather Visibility Metric Units Issue
I had been experiencing lower than usual depicted visibility in v4 and seems it might be related to the units issue as well, as it looks like the 'miles' visibility numerical value might be getting used as the target visible range in kilometers resulting in lower than expected visible range, while t...

Re: Depicted visibility too low?
Would appreciate if any other users could confirm if they are seeing similar issue, as if not then I will need to further look into other parts of my setup.
Thanks

Re: Depicted visibility too low?
Upon further experimenting with visibility setting in user defined weather option as well as via custom metar weather injection feature such as in opusfsi weather engine, it appears p3d v4 is depicting near about half the visibility of what is set in the sim, setting double the desired visibility is...

Depicted visibility too low?
It has been my experience while doing flights in p3d v4 of generally lower visibility being depicted than what used to be in p3d v3. To check if the set surface visibility in weather settings is indeed being shown correctly in the sim, I took the following screenshots slewing right above runway 9L t...

AI faster operation on runway
While the air traffic AI system has its quirks it is still able to provide immersion of a busy air space up to a certain extent. However there is one area where it might improve further providing for flying with more quantity of traffic but much reduced hindrance by speeding up takeoff lineup proces...

Support for elevated taxiway
It seems currently the only way to display elevated taxiways correctly is to use runway links for elevated portions, as using taxi links causes the terrain to bend upwards below the taxiway. However using the runway type link does not allow the taxiway to be designated correctly and shares it with a...

Re: Running p3d minimized
In above stopping/starting traffic from the in sim addons ut2 menu has the same effect on lag as closing/restarting the ut2 process.

Re: Running p3d minimized
Have the issue when using default aircraft as well. No problems with losing p3d window focus to other apps, pc is not locked for the duration. Do not see camera related problems as mentioned above probably as don't have any camera enhancement addons installed. After disabling all addon modules was u...
