Re: Newest Nvidia driver causes memory leak

BTW for windows 10 HOME users, the only working way is to disable windows update service in services. Are you sure? There have been reports of registry settings and also someone said there is a way you can let windows update the driver and then revert, supposedly windows will not ask again to insta...

Re: Newest Nvidia driver causes memory leak

To my disbelief, Windows10 promptly updated to their 376.54 version and I thought WTF!!! Is the only way of combating this auto update, to use the process you used where you add the hardware ID's in the GPE to exclude any driver update? I wasn't sure about using this process because of the possibil...

Re: Newest Nvidia driver causes memory leak

Thanks Kosta, but like you said, the group policy editor only covers Win10 Pro and my laptop came with home only. I don't fancy spending another wedge of cash on upgrading Windows. I can't believe there isn't a way of stopping the driver update if you run the home version only!! I've tried the Driv...

Re: Newest Nvidia driver causes memory leak

I've been having the same problem as you. I've changed my processor to a new brand I7 7700K and this could not be the problem. Since 5 days all my flights finished on OOM crash. It was terrible cause my new life with my new processor could be better starting....FSUIPC always reminded me that an OOM...

Re: Possible new VAS issue in v3.4

I'm new here but I have seen screen captures with RAM and another interesting items displayed on screen in the sim, is there a script or something that makes that data appear in the simulator on screen? There are indeed different things. If you are refering to the VAS counter, that is coming from a...

Re: Smooth and No Stutters - suggested solution

Yes, but also in IFR you need visual of the runway, especially in flare, and this is where 60fps behaves completely different. It's doable with 30fps, but for me, anything less, especially 20-25fps, and my landings suffer greatly. But as you say, even maintaining 30fps is a real challenge in P3D. An...

Re: Smooth and No Stutters - suggested solution

I don't know why it's always said that human eye cannot see a difference about 25 and 60 fps, yet I see a very distinctive difference between 30 and 60 fps, even if my FPS is very very smooth, for instance monitor running at 30 and 60 fps for these test. The reaction of the sim is completely differe...

VC FOV and cameras.cfg

I am using NGX and A320 to test, so just to know what my test aircraft are. I am trying to understand something... Up until now, I've been flying at zoom level 0.6, and seated more or less correctly in the VC. I could see most of main intruments. With zoom 0.6 however, the distortion is noticable, a...

Re: Smooth and No Stutters - suggested solution

20fps... ugh. Ugly, really ugly. Anything below 30 is for me a slideshow, even 25. I see difference clear as day. And my monitor can also do 30hz without problem. For me 30fps is a big compromise. Did some flying at 60fps, with Majestic Dash, and wow... talking about reality. On the topic of gauges,...

Re: Smooth and No Stutters - suggested solution

So you mean, although PMDG and FSL allow the refresh rate of their gauges to be set to 30fps, and nominally at 20fps, that these fps are actually not maintained, am I understanding this correctly?

Re: Newest Nvidia driver causes memory leak

I am going back to my old trusty 372.70, but I am also toning down some settings in P3D. Even with 378.78 I had some weird things, like unusual VAS load of about 300mb while not doing anything. I was in a VC, and it stayed that way for about 2 hours.

Re: Newest Nvidia driver causes memory leak

Come on, don't talk about default P3D settings, as the sim should be able to cope with it's own settings. Even with sceneries. There shouldn't be a memory leak, which IS there with water on ultra (at least on my setup, currently).
I will, as I said, test without REX water.

Re: Newest Nvidia driver causes memory leak

It would be interesting to know what the default P3D settings are when first default tests are run ... before changing settings or adding addons. I don't get it, what do you mean? After a fresh install of P3D: http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6312&t=123246 What are the default sliders ...

Re: Newest Nvidia driver causes memory leak

Great, thanks too! I see some key settings comparable to lower settings, I have my eye now on tessellation factor, shadow quality and water quality. Right now flight with lower water is proceeding. Another hour or so. I'm quite confident that some sliders cause leaks now. And also explains the diffe...
