Re: P3D V4 CTD

Dan, You won't need to start Prepar3D any differently than normal or create any new projects. If a crash occurs and you have Visual Studio installed a pop-up should show that gives you the option to debug the crash. If you click debug than a new instance of Visual Studio will launch with execution s...

Re: SimObject Model Rendering incomplete in P3D V4 compared to P3D V3

We'll investigate what caused the differences in behavior between versions and get back to you.

Also default cameras are created for AI entities and can be activate through the view menu.

Re: set the Season and Time of Day using C#

Sorry, we currently don't expose a way to change time/season through SimConnect or the PDK. The SimConnect_FlightLoad function can be used to load scenarios with different times and seasons.

Re: P3D V4 CTD

We have seen similar reports and are currently working a fix for this issue. If you can provide additional information that would help as well. What add-ons do you have installed? Do you only see this in certain aircraft or at certain locations? Also if you have Visual Studio 2015 installed, an opti...

Re: Reloading scenery libraries after P3Dv4 reinstall

Prepar3D will re-generate all default data after clearing these directories. You may need to reinstall the add-on sceneries but this depends on how the add-on is set up. If one of these add-ons caused an issue that prompted the reinstall/deletion of these directories then I recommend adding them ind...

Glad to hear that fixed it. In the sample there is a RegisterInternalWindow function. You can specify the name of the desired window here.

Re: Taxi/Landing Light Brightness (or not)

Do any lights on default vehicles seem too dim? If any third party aircraft lights seem too dim the add-on developers can update multiple lighting parameters including brightness.

Re: Oculus Rift Aircraft display readability

Many VR improvements have been made in version 4 and future updates will include even more. With that being said the overall resolution of the displays in the Oculus is limited. You may need to manually move your viewpoint closer to read displays with small text.

Re: 0xfffffff7 - unspecified error

The DirectX installation may have frozen during the install. If you attempt to install again when this happens it will most likely fail again. You can either open the process explorer and manually end the DirectX install or restart your machine and try again.

I would try going through all of our general debugging steps listed here: https://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6312&t=123246 The entry concerning the preferred graphics processor won't apply in your case. This is mainly for laptops which have both a low performance on-board card as well as...

Re: View change crash

I've got a few questions to try and narrow down the issue. When this is happening with default vehicles are you starting with a PMDG aircraft and then switching to a default aircraft? What default vehicles do you see the crash in? How are you switching views when this occurs? Also do you still see t...

Sorry there was a mistake in my previous post. Changes to other systems did impact the sling's behavior but this was fixed in version 3.4.
