Make ReSample 64bit and threaded

LM Team, Now that I'm getting more involved in scenery/airport development. I noticed some rather significant limitations to some of the SDK apps/tools. ReSample.exe has: 1. A 2GB input TIF limit (assume a hold over from FSX days of 32bit) 2. Is a 32bit app (slower on modern 64bit hardware and OS) 3...

Re: PBR Polished metal shadows

Hi Manfred,

"PBR fuse materials created vai MCX"? You lost me there, are you using 3DSMax "P3D PBR Material" from the Materials editor?

Any reason you turned HDR off?

Cheers, Rob.

Re: "Protecting Content" feature request

Yeah, unfortunately that only works with MDL, there is a lot of other content that needs to be protected. Theft problem appears to be more prolific than ever before after I ran a quick search and found a bottomless pit of websites ... easy to shutdown the US sites, but not so easy to shutdown sites ...

"Protecting Content" feature request

There are various methods currently being used in an attempt for content providers to protect their content from illegal duplication and/or theft ... these methods are cumbersome, sometimes ineffective, sometimes intrusive, and increase development costs and waste development time that could be put ...

Re: Titan RTX question & P3D 4.4+ optimisation...

I've capped out my 2080Ti SLI setup VRAM ... 11GB is not enough for P3D when using additional tweaks with add-ons. I'm looking into the Titan RTX 24GB with a water cooled/chiller solution to drive three 4K res image units. Having a single GPU will reduce CPU loads by about 17% (vs. 2 GPUs) but I'm s...

Re: 3DSMax Oil rig sample "missing files"

Hi Rob, Yes, I'm aware of those files and I select the browse option to select that path to the files but they don't show up in 3DSMax model view ... I was expecting to see the textures applied to the 3D model in 3DSMax but all I get is a textureless default gray model. https://drive.google.com/uc?i...

3DSMax Oil rig sample "missing files"

Looks like the Oil Rig.max sample provided in the SDK has hard coded full paths to the texture files. https://drive.google.com/uc?id=1x-SS3juPOYjDJ09Oh3kfB_ZWCCfOtFE2 I attempted to "Browse" to the actual path on my PC but 3DSMax seems to ignore it and I get no textures on the 3D Model in the viewer...

Re: prepar3d.exe command line switch to load and run .FSR

HI Oliver, I've come up with a less clean solution, Prepar3d.exe -fxml:myfolder\myflight.fxml and then once loaded use SimConnect_PlaybackRecording(...) ... it would be nice if I could just specify the path.file.FSR from command line and then monitor FPS via SimConnect_SubscribeToSystemEvent(hSim, e...

prepar3d.exe command line switch to load and run .FSR

I'm working on a project where it would be VERY handy to be able to use a command line switch that would allow me to load a previously recorded flight (.FSR) and execute/run the playback immediately after load.

Would love to see this added in some future version.

Cheers, Rob.

Re: Frame issues in Prepar3D v4.5

Rob, did you port over your shadow tweak from v4.4? I realized that using "4096" for those two parameters: OPAQUE_SHADOW_TEXTURE_SIZE= TRANSLUCENT_SHADOW_TEXTURE_SIZE= My process for testing: 1. Verify all 6 P3D folders don't exist, delete them if they do 2. Install V4.4 3. Manually set graphic set...

Re: Frame issues in Prepar3D v4.5

Thanks Rob for the test , in a way it kind of proves its not an ORBIX problem but a problem with the new LM 4.5 update as i dont have any kind of Orbix scenery and i see the FPS problem .. Agree, it does seem to be an issue LM need to investigate and resolve as I don't think a 29% drop in FPS from ...

Re: Frame issues in Prepar3D v4.5

I was able to confirm the drop in FPS and have reported my testing details to LM. Re: Frame issues in Prepar3D v4.5

5) why? if the FPS was ok with the add on before yet is lower with the new 4.5 its not an add on thats causing it Hi Rich, we're simply trying to perform diagnostics and locate a source, once source is located then that provides additional information to work with and could aid in trying to replica...

Re: Frame issues in Prepar3D v4.5

Srce, Please do NOT post your entire Prepar3d.cfg as a text listing in these forums ... offer a link to the file if you feel it's required. Thorsten, What is "polyline autogen buildings"? Did you mean Polygons? Others with FPS problems, My suggestion for those with performance issues is to: 1. Back...
