Re: Latest Nvidia drivers 381.65 causes memory leak

Hi Rob, Thank you for your inquiry into this matter. I would add that a somewhat more useful test would also subject the sim to scenery loading by way of cross-country travel (not just sitting still). Some have suggested issues with travelling over water and I've noticed this to be an issue as well....

Re: US/Mexico boundary visible in water

One doesn't see Falcon lake full like that very often either, but that is a different issue. Up around the Texas panhandle on the high plains there are numerous depressions in an otherwise perfectly flat surface. They are just that, depressions, but the simulator world thinks each one is a lake. Im...

Re: Newest Nvidia driver causes memory leak

Anybody tested 381.65 yet?
I tested it and it failed for me. Staying with 376.33 for now
Could you please elaborate on what you mean by "failed?"

Re: P3D only in my taskbar

I had that problem after using SimStarter NG. I think I had to delete the default flight from this location: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 Which is described here: http://www.prepar3d.com/Prepar3D_Download_and_Install_Instructions_v3.pdf I also had to check that the "SITUATION" settting...

The discussion was still on 378.78, but 378.92 was released.

Heuristic for Long Haul Success?

Hello fellows, I think you could count on one hand the number of complex/high-fidelity aircraft natively available for P3D 3.x. I would consider the PMDG 777 as the best of these aircraft for long-haul flight simulation. Is there a heuristic that can be followed in order to complete a flight leg/use...

Re: Possible new VAS issue in v3.4

Things got worse for me arriving at KLAX from VHHH. I've flown the PMDG 777 extensively without VAS problems but suddenly OOM errors appear in v3.4 ... Dan, I noticed a thread from you at AVSIM where you say you sorted things out. How is this the case? Since you seem to do longhaul in the 777, what...

Great guide. It serves as a reminder of how complex things are and how elaborate the upgrade process can be.

Re: Possible new VAS issue in v3.4

Very interesting observations about London. In some of my earlier posts, I have made the observation that flying into and out of the greater London area has been impossible using something like the Aerosoft A320 for me. It is a shame that these VAS issues can't be addressed, but one wonders if the p...

Re: Possible new VAS issue in v3.4

This is not good news. I personally really can't fly heavy iron in P3D V3 any longer (well, P3D at all) due to these VAS problems.

Oh well.

Re: Crashing on long flights

Hi, I don't have a solution as I haven't been able to fly in my preferred manner (what you describe) since FSX with Steve's DX10 fixer. I LOVE a mission profile like you are describing: 1) Plan a 8-12 hour flight meticulously 2) Use real weather 3) Fly across the pond in the PMDG 777, MD-11, or 747-...
