P3DV5 vs P3dV4.5 comparision

I now have both P3DV4.5 and P3DV5.0 on my computer. I have alternately been running both for comparison and, other than maybe clouds, I really find no difference in scenery detail or fps. I am experiencing fps issues with V5.0 and, on occasion, V5.0 freezes or drops out when in SteamVR mode. I do ha...

Installing P3D5

If I install P3D5, will I be able to download and fly all of my existing vehicles that I now have in P3D4.5?
And will I also be able to install my ORBX airports that I now have installed in P3D4.5?

Thanks for any information.

Re: Sim aircraft side panels are transparent

Ok, folks, I discovered the issue. It is a Nvidia control panel setting that causes the sim models to be partially transparent.

My bad!

Thanks

Sim aircraft side panels are transparent

It's a puzzlement I can see the internal objects of the sim from an external view of most sim models: pilot seats, instrument panel, animated pilot, side panel ribbing... etc. From an external top view, I can see the folded landing gear in the wings, etc., I've tried to resolve this issue by re-inst...

Re: Transparent Sim Object side panels

Follow-up to my Subject post: It appears that some sim development techniques are more susceptible than others in how this "Transparent Sim Object Panels" affect their models: The below list of those models that are or are not affected is based on the models that I own from those publishers. Transparent Sim Object side panels

Recently encountered a new problem in P3D V4.5 where sim models display with transparent side panels such that you can see pilot figures, model side ribbing, seats, etc. This occurs both in the Vehicle Select window function and in the simulator as well. Interestingly enough, this is not the case in...

OV-10 Tacpack compatible

Is anyone aware of an OV-10 sim that is tacpack compatible? Heard that someone was attempting the feat with an Aerosoft OV-10 model.

Thanks for any input.

P3D Virtual Reality pixel density

Is there a way to increase the pixel density in P3D VR using the oculus Rift S HMD? There is an Oculus SDK tool option that SteamVR provides in their user options that allows the user to change "Pixels per display override" to a value between 1.0 (default) to 2.0 in increments of .1, which enhances ...

P3D Virtual Reality in Oculus Rift S

P3D developers have done a great job with the Virtual Reality option. Only problem is that the display (using Oculus Rift s) is blurry and hard on the eyes after 15-20 minutes. However, I found an option to enhance the clarity of the VR display found on this link: https://www.roadtovr.com/improve-oc...

Re: P3D VR

Thanks for the post reply, Mike. The thing is that Steam VR is already available, though they have some ironing out to do. But from what I read, it will be compatible with Microsoft's new FSX release. So that gives Microsoft a head start in the right direction. It will be interesting to see how imme...

P3D VR

This post is directed at the P3D development team. And the topic may will be in progress, but I truly believe that the wave of the future in flight sim preference will be Virtual Reality (you think!) and the focus by LM should be in making the VR option as powerful and immersive as it can. That mean...

Re: P3DV4.5 Effects issues

Thanks Jorgen, I re-installed P3D and let it install without redirecting. Probably my bad in previous installs. Now all tacpack effects are working, and seaplanes have a wake, however there are still some ships (USS Saugatuck, USS Iowa) that still don't display the wake... so I will continue to diag...

P3DV4.5 Effects issues

In P3DV4.4 all ships and seaplanes display wakes, bow wakes and spray effects. Upgraded to P3DV4.5 and those effects do not display unless the Effects are embedded in the model, i.e., USS Fletcher DD445 and USS Patuxent. I did increase the Effects Slider in P3DV4.5 controls to max (100 percent) with...

Re: Oculus Rift s VR and P3DV4.5

Thanks for the inputs, guys. Really appreciate the help. I think that LM has some homework to do to make VR a really viable part of its platform. It's obvious that VR is the wave of future flight sim... not quit there yet, but we're close.
