Hey all,

This is a thread I am starting that is about the cool features that are already included in P3D. There isnt a forum room for this (yet) so I thought I would start a thread on it.

Cool feature number one, the paused 'return to screen' zoom into the scene. Very cool! I have discovered that when I pause the flight, check an email, return, and bring the screen back up, the sim zooms in from high atmosphere, shooting down to the saved point on Earth below.

I dont know how you all did it, but its fantastic. The P3D new sim engine flexing its muscles 'smoothly'. Nice!

I also like your high realism Logbook graphics. Another fine touch.

Another cool feature; revised landscape tiles!

I was flying in Alaska last night. Very impressed!

Back when FS2004 came out, many years ago, for weeks, I was captivated with Alaska. FS2004 had created the most amazing scenery of mountains and valleys, lakes, air strips, all in Alaska. The scenery was breath taking.

When FSX came out, it was gone. Mountains looked like quilts and had perhaps 40% 'desert' texture applied to them. Its like it was half finished. It looked horrible. (Im sorry, and I am being honest).

Last night, flying in P3D, I found the valleys and mountains to be very much improved. The texture tiles appear very much improved over what FSX had 5 years ago. I for one am greatful. I have Alaska back, and in a new simulator. Thanks P3D.
