Post What comes with the 499 license?

Hello,

Does this license cover all future releases? Do I still have to pay a monthly fee? If there is a sticky about license info, could you give it to me?

Thank you

Hi,

The $499 is a perpetual license for the major version that is purchased (it won't expire). All point updates are free. i.e. 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.n. There will be a upgrade price for upgrades to major release versions i.e. 1.0 to 2.0. There are no monthly fees.

There are also some added usage rights. You can use the developer license to build a simulator, for example, but would need the full license installed before deploying the simulator for training.

so does this mean you have to pay a monthly fee for the $499 license? Or just pay $499 and then $$ for the major updates? I gather that for $499 you get one license for one PC which doesn't stop working after a month of training and for future major releases there will be a cost for that. Can you please clarify all my points here as I don't want to purchase and find out that I have to pay monthly payments afterwards.

Thanks for you response in advance.

Kelvin, There are no ongoing costs with the $499 licence unless you decide you want to upgrade to the next major version. In that case you pay the upgrade fee and no ongoing months costs.

that's great thanks. As a budding pilot i have always been chasing a great flight simulator that will carry out tasks of the real world pilot. FSX is good but no real development has gone into the backbone of it since its birth way back 5 or 6 years ago. I am very interested in the fact that this flight (training) simulator has a dedicated body working to fill the gaps that was left unfilled by Microsoft. I hope you (and your team) manage to really pull this one off as there is a huge market for even aeroclubs to have software like this to brief pilots before we go flying. This does separate the pilots/enthusiasts from the arcade players.
