Post [ANSWERED] download problems
on: October 8, 2012, 21:32

:o I have a few other flight sims , have been using flight sims since sub-logic version 2 in 1984 . since then I have used Ms 2004 then MS FSX, then X-plane 9 with uodates then X-Plane10 which is a wonder of a program. all use discs or DVD to download. I have never seen such a mes of a download that after a install and re install still doesnt work I was expecting great things but saw inferior product ... some online support or a phone support line would be nice to solve many problems of a complicated download and install process

Hi rwoodward,

We apologize for any issues you are having. We provide online support through our forums, so if you have any specific questions that we can help with, please post them and the development will help as much as they can. While our installation/download guide located on your Purchased Downloads page or our Frequently Asked Questions page should cover most issues, we have developers that consistently browse the forums to help with outlying issues.

I have tried uninstalling then installed for the fourth time I get all 3 files downloaded then unzip them 1 at a time as directed in a folder when I have extracted all three to that folder it all seems to be there but the Prepar3Dsetup is not an .exe file
. The icon is up but I go to :c/ program files(x86) lockheed /prepar3d again no .exe so I right click on it and no run as admin
or any way to "run " there. so I try right clicking prepar3d icon on d.top nothing . so I left click the icom and get ---------------------------
Prepar3D
---------------------------
Could not initialize application. Error 42.
Please try right-clicking and choosing "Run as administrator". If problem persists, please contact technical support.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
but right clicking dosent bring up ru as anything Im really getting frustrated by now what a piece of junk you have sold me I will never get to see how great the graphics and flight is because of a very un organized install method You guys should learn something in that line from the one that have been around foe ever Microsoft Fx and fs2004 and even x-plane 10 with 78 Gig of scenery has no issues with installing and look at the flight physics they speak for themself http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2ZC94HCtcg

Did you check the md5sum of all files, if your download is corrupt then you've got a problem. However frustration and maligning a fine product isn't really going to win you many friends.

Ray Im not here to make friends , I already have plenty thanks . Just here because this is where support is supposed to be for a $50 investment
X -Plane support in comparison will personally call people and walk them through any problems be either large or small. I guess I just chock up the 50 dollars as a loss and go back to x-plane and FSX but thanks anyway.I guess its to be expected in the minor league

There is a 60day Return Warranty on Lockheed's products so don't chock up the 50 dollars just ask for a refund.
