Post Gray windows

I've run into this on a few FSX models I've installed in P3D... Everything looks and works fine but the windows in the VC are gray and opaque and appear so from the outside as well.

I've looked over the texture files and they appear fine and most are DDS/DXT-5 so there shouldn't be an alpha issue.

Anybody know what causes this?

Hello Tony, Default FSX or add on? Have a look at Options/Display/Aircraft/Cockpit Settings >> High resolution 3D VC

Add-on's only but not all... just a few. That's the very puzzling part. I can't find what sets them apart. One is the Quality Wings 757 and another is the Lionheart (Sorry Bill!) Avenina.

I have the High Resolution VC checked.

Solved!

I discovered that the aircraft in question were using glass textures with either no alpha channel or one of insufficient value. By adding a nearly black alpha value, it solved the problem.

Now the question is how does P3D handle transparent textures differently than FSX?

I have the same problem with the Commercial Level Simulations Boeing 767.

Which files do you change and what software did you use. I tried Gimp, but I couldn't get it to work?
