Post A couple of bugs
on: January 28, 2011, 09:18

Hi Guys

first bug for me

if i set the graphics filtering to Trilinear i get an error when i exit Prepar3D
also get this when i turn off Bathemetry in the settings.

basically get a crash when i close Prepar3D (works ok when in sim)

Image

also the landing lights showing on ground tag causes all default & addon aircraft to have corrupted self shadowing when the landing lamp is on.

Hopefully Jesus will come up with some tweaks for the cfg as i find the performance on Prepar3D quite low compared to FSX even with Bathemetry turned off

Someone said the shaders where much better but they look identical to me ;)
(sorry guys, just an observation)

All my FSX models work fine apart from the $panel dummy textures being reported as missing which they are supposed to be in FSX.

Also seems like quite a few FSX L: variables are missing
Hydraulic integrity is for sure.

Any ideas on the Landing lights bug ? (thats the most of a problem)

Rick, two points of clarification:

1. $panel "textures" are auto-generated in memory at run time. There are no actual bitmaps at all.

2. There are no such thing as default L:vars at all. They only exist if the gauge system creates them. IOW, they are "user defined."

Hi Bill

when i load one of my own FSX native aircraft it calls errors for missing $panel.bmp's for all the projected maps.

as you know they are not needed.

so wondered why is Prepar3D showing the error ?
that was what i meant ;)

no idea why the Hydraulic variable error comes up because i have never used it
on my models or gauges. :(

I was hoping one of the LM guys would have noticed my post by now :(

the self shadowing problem is the show stopper for me.

Rick,

Just for clarifacation the self shadowing bug is the darkening of the plane when landing lights are on?

Cheers,
Sean

Hi Sean

I have replied 3 times but the replies never show up.
(Strange as it now shows in here.)

Is there any way to get e mail notification when a reply is posted in my thread like all other forums ?

Yes i do mean the shadowing problem when the Landing lamps are on ;)

Hi Rick,

I'll talk to the web guys and see if there is a way to get email notification.

That bug has been corrected and will included in the next release, which should be avalible soon.

If you need a fix ASAP you could turn off aircraft dynamic shadows (which was the culprit).

set AC_SELF_SHADOW=0 in your Prepar3D.cfg

Cheers,
Sean
