Post Flight Setup Screen

At the moment it's really awkward and time consuming to setup a flight the way you want it. For example, after waiting for p3d to startup, I then have to:

1. Choose location
2. Wait for a long Reload.
3. Time is wrong, set correct time
4. Long Reload
5. Choose different plane
6. Another reload
7. Change weather,
8. Another reload

Please can we have a quick flight screen (Not a startup screen), so that all of these can be chosen at once instead of the continual reloads which is not too fast on my system. This would make p3d so much nicer and easier to use for me, and I'm sure many other people :-)

I'm disappointed with regard to this omission too. It really puts me off using P3D that and several other niggles that were not addressed. Nothing huge but makes the sim clunky and awkward to use in comparison to FSX. Perhaps next upgrade then....... :-/

I support this - even if we first had to wait for the loading of the default flight, if that is what LM wants for some reason, there could at least be a choice on the menu bar, to then get into a quick flight screen as suggested by tony so we didnt have to repeat loading several times. There is a free add-on for this here http://members.multimania.co.uk/keithb77/P3D/P3D.html, if only this one could handle weather too.

Just quoting myself from another topic:
"No need for a full-of-colour-and-sound gaming interface, only a simple, essential, professional and time saving situation setup screen", from which choose:
Airport
Aircraft
Time and season
Weather
and finally load the flight only once.

It could make save a lot of time to students adn instructors.
Eventually could be made a setting in Prepar3D.cfg to enable/disable it, so If someone don't like it he can start directly as now.

At the moment is the last only thing preventing me from use Prepar3d as primary simulator, and keeping FSX alive on my HD.

Yes yes yes yes!! This is so old. Please, pretty please! A start up screen!

I would even add a wish for better functionality of various in game screens. Like loading of the flight should be one window, with a menu like in FSX, now that one has to open a submenu each time loading a flight.
Also the list on the right side is kind of confusing. Why just not make one list like in FSX and that's it?

Also, aircraft chooser like in FS9 was IMHO the best solution, but the current also isn't bad. A matter of opinion.

It feels like the sim is "dirty" when you have effectively re-loaded your environment 5-6 times just to start the simulation you had planned on doing that day. And up to 10-15 minutes can be wasted in some cases loading and re-loading scenery.

Think of it almost as an "Instructors Set-Up Tool" - in those situations an instructor isn't going want set up the environment 5-6 times just to prepare (see what I did there?) the student for their lesson. More likely you are going to need to feed in all the known variables for that lesson in one go?

Hopefully this will be given some consideration by LM - please!

Many thanks.

As it is now, 4 long reloads before I actually can fly what, where when and how is way too much.

Hi,

I have to agree, time is money and a lot of time is wasted waiting while trying to configure a flight. This would be a great benefit to most users.
